The second technique is what they refer in the south as “chopping.” The easiest I would explain it is line up, then spin the other deck 1/2 a beat forward. It can be done on vocals as well (I’m sure your aware of “chopped & screwed” music). You should consider doing a basic tutorial on how to chop and screw a track.

My favorite DJ instructor back with another Gem great explanation as usual and no extra un needed fluff. Keep em coming, your content has truly helped me immensely and I thank you for that. Here in Toronto if you don't know somebody you're not learning anything, and even if you do know somebody they're reluctant to share the knowledge. When I count and want to drop right between the 4& and 1 I count that as an "uh" exp.. 1 & uh 2 & uh 3 & uh..... Peace and love.

Nice :) Hey man how do you rate the 1000 for scratching/manipulating the platter ect coming from those Rane 12's? Do you feel your missing out on a lot of control/options using those Jogs instead? Cheers man.
@DJLiftOFF
@DJLiftOFF 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Great question. It might too early for me to decide whether I’m losing “a lot” of control, but even after a day, I can honestly say that yes, the rane 12’s are much more responsive! I’ve gotten really used to the larger platters, which helps me be much more comfortable, but I still feel that scratching with the 1000s is pretty decent. It’s definitely doable, but as far as learning, or getting the most out of scratching, I would prefer the 12’s or a turntable of some kind.
@bigdaz7272
@bigdaz7272 3 жыл бұрын
@@DJLiftOFF Thanks for your response man. Still trying to decide whether i should keep saving for the 12's and a S11 or maybe even the Rane One. I did have the 1000 Rekordbox for a few weeks but sent it back because the Fader Cut Lag was offset, super tight cuts one side and a couple of mm on the other. Don't get me wrong it is/was a fantastic bit of Kit but i am now considering saving for the 12's ect although i have never used them why i asked you cause you use both. I get buyers remorse Big Time so i kinda have to get the right Kit or i end up super Pissed :)

Hey dj liftoff 👋🏽.. is it possible to take this lesson n utilize it on my turntables too? I’m strictly old skool genuine vinyl i have the numark scratch mixer there isn’t a double time button so I’d have to have juggling skills for this right? I wish there was a faster way 2 learn juggling but doesn’t seem like there is.
@keiswag1367
@keiswag1367 3 жыл бұрын
You can do it with turntables once you have the same track on vinyl. He literally just takes the clap from one track I drops the clap in before the other decks clap plays. That’s technique one. The second technique is him playing both songs but one deck is is a lil earlier. Then you just go back and forth on beat with the crossfader
@DJLiftOFF

Yes, perfect. Thanks for the reply Kiesswag. And Joi, juggling definitely takes some time to get used to! I’ll be creating some content on that as well!

This is awesome! Ive always done this with the right deck on the and after the one like im flipping backwards a bit instead of forward. Also have never done it by hand (I always sync them then use the jog wheel to create the delay.) This will help me get more comfortable manipulating the jog wheel. Thank youuu binging all your videos! @ravensofly 🎧
