@@thelegendarykevininsales7589On most modern equipment you ll have a loop function on each deck , in sub divisions of 4 to 16 bars...master how to use it when in the mix..e.g at the end of a song, loop 4 bars of the beat while the other song is playing then you ll be locked in to the next track and it wont even sound like you mixed it . Master it to get better at on the fly and your mixes will be seamless and you can also get creative with it in many ways that you will discover along the way.

And for the veteran DJ’s the hunger to keep pushing themselves to keep up and create new skills. The value of all the things you do is precious for the DJ community. And wanted to react to a question you asked some time ago : what kind of genre for a new mixtape: JUMPSTYLE. This genre is from some time ago but absolutely 🔥. Would love to see what you could do with this genre. It has also a different structure than the normal ones. Not sure if it’s known genre over there. my most preferred way of mixing (i dont think it was mentioned in the video?) is to start track two when track one is halfway through its drop. that way, the second part of the intro of track two is playing while the first part of track one is being mixed out. similar to chorus mixing, but you start track two 8 bars later (this works very well for progressive house, bass house, and other mainstage genres, since they usually have a buildup during the second part of their intro)

Carlo, I have a question. At 9:20 you have the visual aid with "UP 1" and "UP 3" but they are different lenghts. You correctly mix it at the correct point, but how would you know this? You could count the bars on track 2 to know how long that phrase is, but how do you know it for track 1? Because the track is playing you cant do anything. Right now my solution for this is that Im using cue points as visual help with names how long the phrase is. for example, I make a cue point and then name it "INT 8B" so i know its 8bars. But I was wondering if there is a trick or method of doing this? Thank you for all your videos

drop mixing is my way or let the track run to the next drop and bring it in from there i like to start any track let it run to 32 and start the mix so you got about a minute to 60 seconds of the track playing to the people i am also old skool good tips mate

I know this question doesn't really pertain to this video but your super awesome at helping people and I haven't found ANYONE that could answer this question...... I know how to select the sample I wanna cut and load it ... BUT sometimes it needs to be trimmed a little in the beginning or end of the sample , can samples be trimmed in rekordbox ????
@djcarlo2 ай бұрын
They can, but they're not as accurate to trim on Rekordbox. Best to use audio editing software, like Reaper, to precisely trim samples!

Can you make an updated video on how to get analysis to work on rekord box?
@djcarlo27 күн бұрын
It should still work the same in RB7

Engine DJ is becoming more and more popular, will you make a tutorials for that as well as you already do with Serato and Rekordbox?
@djcarlo10 ай бұрын
Most likely yes! Once they drop a full stems release, I'll highly likely consider it!

Thanks again for another epic video. You are one of a kind mate! I've added the viewable phrase guide but it's just a black line. I assume this is something you map out yourself yes? If so where can you do this for each song?
@djcarlo8 ай бұрын
Oh! Did you analyze your tracks first? A lot of times, that solves the problem
@BradRasmus8 ай бұрын
@@djcarlo analyse? You mean synchronise? Sorry I dont know about that function

Sometimes, if I miss my cue, I go panic mode and you see me frantically trying to find either a 4 bar before change or just wait a whole another 8 bars to cue and then beat jump 8 to catch up. It heavily depends on the situation but as I've been mixing more and more I miss my cues less and less.

That's called practice my friend! The more you get used to it, the more you understand all the nuances of your music!

Lol. This DJ Studio looks like cheat codes. What kind of sorcery is this 😂 Great guides. Ample quality knowledge for aspiring DJs and all for free. People used to charge big bucks for sharing that kind of knowledge back in the day.

Thank you! Got tons of tutorials on here with tons of nuggets of info, so I'm really glad you appreciate the guides! :D
