I remember that bee attack! We even saved one from the honey :D I know all those places, great to see them again. You really need a watch (or to notice the impending darkness coming 😅) What a weird place to stay, I remember the pics and insta posts from back then - actually quite nice, but definitely weird arriving in the dark!!

Yeah I was thinking about your trip to Coolah Tops when I edited the bit riding through Coolah. In future I think I just need to plan for 1 hour stops instead of the 15 minute stops I think I'll have! 🤣 And plan for the inevitable roadworks delays and detours. It was a great place to stay. We'd definitely go back.

The way you looked right, I thought you were considering riding along the train track 😀 That waterfall is superb. Someone seems to be using a laser level on your bike at night.

I do have a history of riding on train tracks so I may have been considering it! 🤣 A laser level might help me keep my bike upright! Great idea! 🤣

your partner is so happy. I bet she slept well. You must have spooned well.

HaHa! She isn't always that happy! We slept pretty well that night and would have spooned for sure in order to both keep warm and to actually fit! 🤣

I'd love to come and explore WA and will at some stage. The east coast is definitely a lot different as the entire Great Dividing Range stretching from Victoria to Queensland offers amazing riding the entire way. Thanks heaps! Stay safe too! Happy Strom riding!

The road from Walcha to Bendemeer is my most favorite ride and I live at Wauchope lol

Yeah right! Such a shame you have to ride the boring section from Wauchope to Walcha to get to it though! 🤣🤪🤣😜

That looked quite a sketchy ride once darkness came in.... and chilly. Hahahah... how was the bed? 😀
@MrAusadventure6 ай бұрын
Yeah it was not a pleasant ride at the end of the day! It wasn't the last time we did it on the trip either! 🤣 The bed was ok. Lucky it was cold so I could curl up in a ball. 😂

Nice work but I can't imagine going two-up for that long - then again I ride a gixxa and pillions aren't exactly a priority for sports bikes 😄 My wife says she would love me to get a more comfortable bike so we can do some trips... guessing you'd recommend a V-Strom eh! Hope you got some sleep in the caravan 🙂
@MrAusadventure6 ай бұрын
It was a lot harder than solo touring that's for sure. This was the hardest of all my Victoria trips due to the lack of space and the extra weight. I'd only done 2up weekends away prior to this and not often as Sharon mostly rides her own bike. I'd definitely recommend a V-Strom for obvious reasons but Sharon also found it more comfortable than the BMW R1100RT that I had which surprised me. I think I was that exhausted by the end of the day that I slept really well even with the cramped space. It was really cold though! 🤣
@andrewrose97076 ай бұрын
@@MrAusadventure but for you banana benders cold is anything below 25 degrees! Or did your Victorian upbringing give you a proper cold barometer (for Australia anyway)? 😄
@MrAusadventure6 ай бұрын
@@andrewrose9707 HaHa! I've definitely gotten softer these days living in QLD. I can handle the dry inland cold that you get at high elevation too, it's just that moist cold and Antarctic wind that you get in Victoria that I can't handle anymore. 🤣

Thunderbolts Rock has been graffitied ever since I can recall, and I've lived in northern NSW since 1972. They should get all the wannabe graffitists and hooligans to clean it as "therapy". It'd do them good and make the rock more aesthetically pleasing.
@MrAusadventure6 ай бұрын
I agree, it would be nice to see it cleaned up, but I couldn't imagine it staying that way for long unfortunately. I imagine it would be a local youth drinking spot at night too.
