In 7:16 there are some very dangerous lines for white after black plays cxb5! and white respinds with Qxa8 Qc7 by black etc. Engine approved lines such as this where you can do an exhange sacrifice to get a huge attack on white's king and the initiative should be a really interesting topic for a future video of yours. Maybe not this exact line so as not to confuse the beginners, but I think lines such as these should be more beneficial to us advanced folks. I've won against a lot of 1800s over the board playing these lines, so there is definitely a "method behind my madness". Best regards!

Thanks for doing this. As a newbie though, I have trouble remember what was traded, so it would be helpful to show on the screen what pieces were captured in the exchanges. example at 7:22 i had to go back and count what was lost on each side. If you had a quick visual counter somewhere on your screen to show everything that was exchanged it would be a lot easier for a beginner like me to see what happened.

You have many excellent videos. One I saw about a week ago 9sorry, can't remember the title) you made moves involving the knight moving forward early in the game, check, taken & seemingly down some points, then move queen, bishop & mate. Beautiful. I just saw Anna Cramling do that to a chess hustler. Just like you showed it. I might get better since am now able to remember some combinations. Nice work, sir, thank you.

funny thing is that in the example 3 h6 move did not solve the problem or hanging rook at all i mean, after white retreating the knight back to e4 the threat is still there due to Nxf6+ with discovered attack on the diagonal, and the best you can do is actually sacrifice the rook even in the initial position taking the bishop with a pawn it is actually a good move, according to the engine (both h6 and cb are zeros at some level of depth) Be7 is also not bad according to the engine, only slightly worse than h6 and cb (+0.1 instead of 0.0) Yea, i know, engine chess is not like a human chess, but still

Hi Igor, I find these problems very instructive and go a long way for my improvement. I have a suggestion, instead of saying white to move and win or black to play and mate, why not, for a couple of videos, just say white to move or black to move, without any clue as what to do, just like a real game. It might well be white to win or mate or it might just be a positional move. The point is we won't know so finding the best move is much harder. I'm no GM or IM but I find that once you tell people it's to win or mate, then it becomes much easier because you know there is a concrete outcome. So how about giving us higher rated players something more to think about, I'm sure others would benefit as well. So what do you think? Your move!
@TKZprod Жыл бұрын
At 7:00 I thought of the move Nd5. It obstruates white queen's trajectory, and the queen is now attacking the knight in g5, resulting in a double attack (the bishop is treatened by the pawn). Then I realized it blunders checkmate with Qf7 lol
@BM-hj6lq Жыл бұрын
6:48 .. h6 suggested in the video is inaccurate. White can play Ne4! Theoretically the best move here is .. rb8! however Ne4 is not an easy move to find. So .. h6 might work against a lower rated player.

At 4:18, that is pretty funny, life goals. I usually work for the city here in New York, I have seen this a few times. Some of the Billionaires who live here- their boats have their own boat. That's when you know you are financially successful. It was a bit startling to see it at first, if I had larger accounts I'm not sure it would occur to me: you know what? My boat needs it;s own boat. But it's nice to be able to do that, despite that yachts are a liability not an asset.

Well, probably these advices are really valuable - to think a little longer and with a little more caution. But really these advices can give the beginner drastic progress? I think that no. The progress in chess is the matter of time, long time, is the matter of trained memory, where afther long time are gathered many ways how to play. This what I have said means that you must study the chess to play it and like in every art - to be patient. To be patient that is the basic trait of character for chess player. And one decisive advice from me: please get the book from Matthew Syed: Bounce. In this book is elucidated how to be a master of the universe, so virtuoso in any thinkable branch - art, chess, sport and I think also in science - in science is exception, I think you will be the master afther you 50 of age. In this book is written that you will need 10 years of work, at about 3 hours of work daily, and the time of work must be rationally used. So work, work and work /something in the way of Lenin´s advice: learn, learn and once more learn - work and learn is by the way the same/ To read this book is very good. When you would come to the idea that you have no chess talent /to reach master level you need medium talent/ you probably can find something other what can you lead to master class in other branch - art, sport etc.

After Nxf7 Bxc6 Nxd8 Kxd8 black has the knight for the 3 pawns. Unbalanced but materially even. Maybe black have more active play even though he lost the castling right?
@jg3019 Жыл бұрын
Pretty sure Nxf7 just loses the Knight. Nxf7 loses the Knight after Kxf7. There is also Nxf7, Bxc6, Nxd8, Rxd8 which leaves black up a Knight for a pawn and black still has the right to castle. Also black will be miles ahead in development after this exchange

Hello Igor, My problem is not that I don't recognise my opponents threats probably too well, it's that I miss simple things like leaving something hanging. A good example is the game I played last night,I castled leaving my e-pawn hanging and my opponent grabbed the pawn. I should have countered but was so annoyed with myself that I went onto lose in the endgame fifty moves later. Any advice would be appreciated as I am making these blunders too often lately.
