I usually play the hyper-accelerated Sicilian Dragon and have studied the variants, but at my rating rate (1000 in blitz), most opponents go for castle king's side. I almost never manage to use what I know against Queen's side.

Another interesting video. In the first puzzle, I didn’t see the Queen on d7… talk about tunnel vision… this is the struggle in my game right now to avoid this tunnel vision. Learning chess seems to me to be like peeling an onion. There is no point in going very deep into my knowledge of chess. Play games, look for the most recurring mistake; the first peel; look for how to correct it best, play games, when it is relatively corrected, look for the new skin and apply the same principles. This allowed me to go from 900 to 1500 in rapid games in the last 2 years. Of course, it also takes many hours of studying theory and principles to get there. Igor has been the one who has helped me the most in my learning. I don’t know how far I will go with my 62 years old, but I will continue to play this game until the day, perhaps, when I realize that I can’t go any further. Reaching 1800 in rapid games would be a very good achievement for me. Thank you Mr. Igor!

there is just d5 which forces a position that is, if not better for black, completely equal. Alternatively you do not accept the b7 pawn.

I feel like it's Nc7 not Bc7... Nc7 gives the opponent the choice of giving you the rook for free or the queen for 1 minor piece. where as Bc7 give the queen for 2 minor pieces which is actually losing because you are already down a minor piece. also if the give up the rook for free you can then bring the Bishop to c7 protected by the knight forcing the queen to e8 behind the king, then Qg4 pins the pawn on e6 to the king allowing lots of checkmating threats with rook or pawn.

Oops, taking with the Queen in your opening example is not a blunder. White is likely winning and if black takes the rook he loses for sure.

This is easily one of my favorite videos you put out. G4 did occur to me, but I looked at knight taking and then didn't follow up with it. When I was sub 1500, I used to hate these minority attacks.

Thank you very much Igor. As always, the quality is great and the content is top level. You own by far the best chess channel. It is really amazing that most of the books I have tried reading are committing such tips, like not wanting to share... Well, proud to be part of the Igornation sir!

Great video and I really enjoyed. A quick one to ask you about a video you posted that is a variation of the London opening and I can't find it. Where you don't develop the White Queen's Bishop as in the regular London, and you hide the King's Bishop as a Sniper like you call it. Will like to review that video again please. Thank you for your lessons and keep up the good work !!!

Hey Igor, you have had some great posts on this channel, but this one was the most instructive yet. Such a subtle and masterful explanation on these principles to assist those of us not as advanced as most. It is appreciated and so thoughtful for you to spend time on posts for less skilled players and beginners. Thanks so much!👍
