Thanks for this, have the impact snap and nv had success with pattern # 1. Would love to know more about pattern #2 and the match ups that suit it as it looks like something I have been using.

What makes no sense in terms of the physics and force generation in the conventional swing is doing the “snap” move of radial - to - ulnar deviation after impact / release of the ball off the face. The snapping, fly casting, whip cracking action in the trail hand creates a huge amount of instantaneous acceleration in the club head simply by allowing the momentum created in the downswing to act on the club head mass. So why not do it before impact? Too much acceleration of the club head around the hands bends the shaft forward to the point of failure, snapping the head off the shaft. Secondly what happens when both wrists are pulled into maxed out ulnar deviation when using the Vardon grip the wrists lock causing the force acting on the toe to rotate and pronate the lead arm and club face resulting in a “snap” hook if the ball is still on the face. Sound familiar? That was how Hogan was known to miss if not otherwise hitting the ball dead straight. What I discovered trying to emulate Hogan’s swing was that his pre-shot “waggle” was actually a rehearsal for snapping the club down with ulnar deviation through impact, timing it so that just as the wrists locked up the face was squared to the target just as the compressed ball was ready to release. If hands are held still and the club is then waggled up and then back down to the point of locking the wrists with face square to target and the ball gets in the way the result will be a consistently dead straight shot which can go 30 yards. Add the same action to the conventional “lag and drag” swing there is a similar increase in distance. The solution to preventing the forward shaft bend while snapping the club down around the hands with radial-to-ulnar deviation is to lift the back heel to allow the hips and shoulders to keep moving the locked up hands in a circle around the feet. By separating the index “trigger” finger of the trail hand and curling it around the shaft is possible to feel, due to reduction of pressure, when the lagging club starts to accelerated faster than the hands and use that a key for lifting the back heel to get the hands moving the same speed as the accelerating club head. Watch Hogan’s swing frame by frame paying attention to the change in radial-to-ulnar deviation in his trail hand, the blur and forward bend in the shaft which is the result of the club head accelerating around the hands, and how he coordinated the lifting and slow turning of his back foot through impact.

Seems like these would have a draw bias? If you have lead wrists flexion+ulnar deviation any timing issues would lead to pulls right? I'm only wondering because I purely ulnar deviate with no lead wrist flexion and launch it high with a predictable fade. By adding the lead wrist flexion it's for max power/delofting? Do you play a draw or just delay the release for a fade?

Thank you! Not many channels explain the release in that much detail. Much appreciated. Your videos have been very helpful in a short amount of time.

Hey what's going on Jake, your videos are great, quick and straight to the point, I never click on 10 min+ videos. Question: which of these do you use & is this dependant more on what feels more natural? Thanks.

All about what feels best. First way more push draw bias 2nd way more pull cut bias 🤙🏽
