it's sept. 16, 2022, my fren received a new fitbit, still the alta, you have showed us the way to re-start, our cable has no button, but went thru actions that you advised, think it re-started. Thank you so much. Now waiting for him to sync to i phone. 🙂

Till it is connected to the cable I can see that is working properly, If I disconnect from the cable, it is not displaying anything... Unfortunately that did not work for my Fitbit Alta HR. I stopped wearing my Fitbit about a year ago and I can’t my original cable. I tried this with the cable I ordered from Amazon and it still shows the wrong date and day of the week. 😢

The "button" on the cable is no button at all. It's a design.
