Really enjoyed the video and was explained well while made simple to understand. Only suggestion I have is possibly showing what the what final lists looks like after the changes just incase players have already made their own changes and need to undo them before trying your list. Great video overall and cant wait to see what other budget lists you might share.

I’m a little confused with how to use motti properly (at 2:20) you state you can attack with Vader and re ready him if you choose to take out motti, but doesn’t vadars “on attack” damage of 2 happen before his combat damage ? Meaning if you took out motti with the 2damage you’d have to ready another unit because vadar doesn’t exhaust yet until after he deals his main combat damage ?

@@juanbonilla1006 I think so, so you “tap” or turn Vader to use his attack, deal his on attack of 2 go take out motti Re ready Vader but continue to finish issuing the damage from Vader as well

I thought ON ATTACK effects trigger before the attack resolves? So the combo you mention with Vader and Motti is incorrect I think. Some cards specifically say after this unit attacks.

I may have mispoke but the Vader Motti trigger goes - Exhaust Vader to attack, trigger his on attack ability to kill Motti, Ready Vader and complete the damage step of the attack. Thus allowing you to attack with Vader a second time.

I’m lost, by adding then deleting the cards you stated, this leaves me only with a deck of 43 (excluding token upgrades, my base, and Darth Vader Leader Unit). How should I fill in the remaining 7 cards? Thanks!

Sideboard is interesting, my local does best of 1 so its not really applicable so far!

Thats to be expected early on, sometimes it can be discouraging though as some decks need the side board to be be competitive with others. As some decks will always lose without certain cards

Good question . It does not. It’s my favorite card in the set for many reasons and that’s one of them. 5 resources to deal 7 damage with Vader is so fun. And if you have his lightsaber equipped , well , you’ll see .

Question regarding overwhelming barrage: in your example can Vader deal the damage also if he’s exhausted? Yes or. He can’t attack because he’s exhausted that’s for but it just damage not attack damage. Am I right or wrong. And if I’m wrong could you refer to the rule topic. I’ve tried to find it and didn’t. Overwhelming Barrage doesn't care if the unit is readied or exhausted. I'd recommend using it on a readied unit though so you can still make use of the +2/+2 while attacking with the unit.

What does the Vader deck bring against the many shields when you play against Luke?

with this style you want to play smaller black aspect cards every turn unless you have a ramp option. Keep using his ability to keep shields from getting crazy and be willing to trade with units early on to prevent them from future shields. Your sideboard can also hold more sabatour units to remove shields Turn 1 play a 1 drop use vaders a bility to ping a shield turn 2 ressupply or a 2 drop black aspect unit trigger vaders ability turn 3 Laser tech and black aspect unit

Not useable in sealed play. Pre release was the only way to use them , but you can construct decks with them for constructed decks like premier and twin suns

Thats correct, it can easily be a sideboard depending on your match up, Most of these cards are better for earlier plays to keep the pressure on your opponent by the time you get to 7 resources you need to ensure your vader leader swings into the base. Most of the cards ensure the board is empty enough to make it happen without too many problems. If your opponent is going wide with units I would play the unit vader to ambush the biggest unit and hopefully bring in a storm trooper lietuenant to increase the damage portion of unit vader or another force user.

They can be played in constructed , but in limited formats like sealed or draft you won’t be able to play them.
