The marathon course is totally lined with spectators. In the town itself, it full of people on the lash giving it stacks, and all you can smell is fish and chips, it's class lad, and even on the hill / drag out of town people were all out in the dark and the pissing rain cheering. There is no other Ironman event like it in the world. I think only Cork would compare.

Why do you suppose they have reversed it, Andrew? It was rough alright but surprisingly quick on the back stretch. This might make it slower and although I'd say that isn't their reasons, it's maybe because of tides or whatever.

It’s shorter to get around the first buoy so the boats can rescue struggling swimmers easily. The first long stretch will be against the current this time but the last stretch back In maybe in our favour 👍🏽👍🏽

@@paulegan3860 fair enough, I thought that this was probably a safety thing because of the swell last year made it difficult to see. I couldn't see the buoys, I used the edge of the cliff and the lifeboat station as my sight markers.
