.308 minimum. With a .223, you run the risk of having the pig beat you over the head with your own gun. Being a good shot does not compensate for the fact that you’re shooting real fast BB’s.

@@johntheclyde2816 Yes I agree, I'd normally use my old .303 for a pig but that day I wasn't expecting to see any pigs there and it took me completely by surprise, so my Mini-14 was all I had with me. The (insert rude word here) gave me a nasty bite on my calf muscle which then got badly infected....but now I have a nice set of tusks. 😀🇦🇺
