Brilliant, love that voice, love those compositions. I can see how in a studio situation the Launchpads work very well, but in a live situation how do you remember the pad sequences - particularly as they will likely change for each piece of work?

Well there is only 64 buttons on each so a total of 128 between the two pads. There is 88 notes on a piano. So not that difficult to remember. The trick is to break it down into tiny little pieces and repeat repeat repeat until it just becomes muscle memory. The hardest part is actually playing 3 different rhythms at once. one in each hand and then the vocal another rhythm again. As for live the launchpads are a great tool for live cause not only can you control your backing track, but you can use them for looping and use them as a device to trigger samples (as shown). You can really do a lot with something pretty tiny and not that expensive!

I had listened to this before but hadn't left a comment. Unfortunately I cannot see the video due to the fact that I'm visually impaired. But am I correct in assuming that you're essentially acting like a "one man band"? like you're playing the drum parts in one hand, then the chords/melody parts in the other hand, then singing over the top of all that? If that's the case, then that's pretty freaking awesome! This seams a little similar to a feature on my electronic keyboard: you can set the left hand side to play chords which are assigned to specific keys, and the right hand to play something else. So if I set the right hand side to play drums and then I use the left hand to play the chords, I really can sound a lot like a band even though I'm just one person! :)

are u using 1 instrument in ableton with all the samples inside? every single boton is a different sample.... but just 1 instrument?

i use a "drum rack" as the sampler for each launchpad i have different instrument channels for the lights as well. If you write all your parts in ableton then convert to audio you can cut each little part up and then drag to the drum rack. it takes a long time to make !!!! haha thanks for watching!
