One other beef on the speedo, it needs to be located where the gas gage and master start is at, and the gage start button below. Not just a glance when wearing a full face helmet, it’s a head bob.

@@TwoIndians Well you’re doing very well Sir; you’re one of the only if not the only Springfield owner pushing content regularly. I honestly think the Springfield is the best bike in the class; the RK leaves so much to be desired after riding the Springfield; especially the 116. I love my Magnum, but I got the new bike itch and I don’t want another full dresser.

Just about to roll my Roadmaster over 5000 miles. Had it for 7 months. Love it! Really like the color on your Springfield. I sat on a Springfield when I went, and thought although it would be a new bike, it wasn't much of an upgrade from what I had. I would like to take some long trips, so I went with the Roadmaster. I see you have made some long trips on yours. Those are rough, that's a long time in the saddle! Great vid, and happy with my Indian motorcycle!

Glad to hear it's still great after 20k. I saw your video when you did the fender swap. I bought a 16 Springfield 2 months ago. It has 9700 on it. Look forward to putting another 10k on it. It's a great bike. Mine has already had a bunch of work done to it. Stage 2 cams, Arlen Ness how outflow, TAB sticks with medium and Zombies and it had custom paint put on it after starting out life black. After not riding for many years, I was blown away with how smooth and maneuverable this bike is for a large bike.

Same thing on my 2019 Scout with the red backlight on the speedometer at night. Wonder what it costs to upgrade. Also, in cleaning I hit my Scout with Meguiar's Detailer spray and a microfiber cloth a couple times a week. 8 bucks a bottle. It's a quick cleaner , protectant and it shines up the chrome and paint great. Takes me like 10 minutes.

Great Review!......as always :-)......Yepp, can agree to this special connection to the Springfield, once you own one. Have mine since already 4 years and can not bring it over the heart to trade it in for a Challenger, which really, really was grown on me. What I mean, if would ever being able to own a Challenger, it would stand next to my beloved Springfield! :-).....What I think should be standard in all Thunder Stroke models is traction control! Just with the BBK, that thing obviously is a pretty strong torque hammer......Stay & Ride safe Barb and Brian, Best Regards.

I have 5k on my 2019 Springfield (same color combo as yours) which I got this April. Up here in the Northeast we are limited in our mileage due to liberal winter salt and sand, and I refuse to subject my beauty to those nasty elements if I can help it. No regrets at all. The bike is so well balanced and a pure joy to ride.

I was getting ready to end the video early but thankfully I stuck it out. Back in my younger days I used to be in broadcast television so I couldn't stop laughing at the cue cards! Anyway... I'm sold that I need to get an open fender. I know when I ride that I can't see the fender but the open fender on this color scheme looks sexy. I'm also going to have to upgrade the power but that is fine. I love the comfort and handling of my Springfield. Another great video!

I am a windscreen guy, too. Don't have much use for a faired motorcycle. What a beautiful motorcycle. And in that color combination it is almost sinful. Any way you look at it we are fortunate to have both the health and finances to be able to pursue our passion. The Victory's were light with a beautiful blue that was very easy to read. A simple Vic diode might be an easy fix? Couldn't hurt to ask your tech.

If you're in Florida, you should take your bike to the Jerry Pallidino "Ride like a pro" class. I take it often for the fun of it and Jerry is a great instructor with a great sense of humor. Lots of fun! If you're able to complete the course you get a certificate that you can submit to your insurance that could save you some money. Great looking bike! I'm looking to get a springfield at some point. Right now I have A Road King and A Street glide. Put the miles on but don't forget to practice slow speed skills and emergency braking.

I own a Springfield and have to agree 're Speedo. You have to really look down at it as opposed to glance. But I love it aesthetically. So I run a bar mounted Garmin GPS which is far superior is allot more accurate and has many other advantages. Biggest criticism would be the suspension. These bikes are built for smooth American roads. Beyond Tar snakes in Pennsylvania and road works in Maine most riders won't encounter rough roads. I know, I have ridden allot of the USA and Canada. But in Europe and especially Australia where I ride now, even sealed roads are much tougher. Better riding, but country riding is more challenging and dirt roads likely. You can ride on rough dirt I do it all the time but... you have to take allot of care. In contrast my BMW R1200R has a far superior sophisticated electronic suspension with ESA. You can adjust suspension while riding to soften it cope with bad conditions or load levels. The Indian's rear has some primitive bike pump adjustment but it isn't good. All USA cruisers IMO fail frankly in this regard. It is still a great bike but it is 2021 and the USA bikes are still primitive in the suspension department. But I realise most only ever ride on Interstates and highway 98 is considered to be a backroad! The Springfield is regardless an outstanding touring machine. You can ride 2 up heavily loaded and travel vast distances. I know because I have done it. Cheers

Thanks for watching and welcome. Previous bikes were smaller and many years prior. As much as I loved (and still miss) my Springfield and did many long rides on the Springy but needed something more suited for travel so I went with the Challenger. Based on your miles on the Strat it seems like you’re riding around town more than travel so I’d say the Springfield would be great for you

Almost bought a Road King, didn’t for several reasons but am the same as you...don’t like a full fairing. I mean I wouldn’t turn down a new Challenger if it fell out of the sky LOL. Yeah the wind buffeting was something I got used to but no doubt it’s a real thing. The wind actually comes from the lower forks and rushes up the side of the tank. If you put your hand next to the tank while you’re riding you can feel the difference. A lot of people buy fork wind deflectors and I hear it really helps. I just sold the Springfield BTW. Two reasons why my wife and I didn’t purchase an Indian was the fact that we ride to up all the time and every Indian on the floor is a softail meaning mono shock. The other problem is the fact that they all have handlebars that lay down towards the driver even yours do I noticed with their ape hangers And I don’t like that look at all so it was off to the Harley dealer for me. I will say this one thing though I wish I had the overall experience that you’ve had with your Indian because my Harley was in need of attention roughly every 10,000 miles so far.
@TwoIndians
@TwoIndians 2 жыл бұрын
On the handle bars, they are adjustable and I’ve had them in several positions. They’re currently raised on the Springfield because I’m using it mainly for short hops around town. As far as two up riding goes the mono shock can handle up to 650lbs of riders’ weight without bottoming out in most reasonable conditions. I know a fairly heavy couple on a Roadmaster that have ridden all over the county with no issues. Not to make an argument about it but Harleys shocks are than usable. It’s the first thing most people change on their bike. Conversely the zindian mono shock (by Fox) makes for the most comfortable ride, period. My buddy has a new CVO and he still says it’s nowhere near as smooth a ride as Indian. I get it though, HD has the market cornered on historic and legendary bikes. I wouldn’t mind having a vintage pan head myself. Thanks for watching. Check out our travel content even if Indian isn’t your thing! Peace!

Stop using the cheapest dish detergent to wash your bike. And stop leaving road crap on it. I got my bike September 23, 2016 , and it’s left in a car park. Wash it , cover it, and don’t let crap sit on the finish.

You’ve de-catted your bike, correct? I haven’t done that to mine and during the summer it will toast my boys. Still love it tho and want no other cruiser.

Hello Brian I've asked before and maybe you forgot but, what about the valve tappet sound?
@TwoIndians

Minimal on my bike IMO, not sure if you’re asking about my bike or just in general.

@@TwoIndians No Brian I'm talking about the thunderstroke in general. I have the 111 and the mech's. say it is normal but I have never heard this on another bike. P.S. I've been riding for over 50 years.

So long answer would be yes, I believe there is a known tapping sound that does sound like a pushrod or valve tappet noise typical for all Indian 111s. I don’t find it any more bothersome that anything HD has put out but it’s certainly not as quiet as a Goldwing. My buddy rides a BMW R1200 and it’s about the same as far as engine noise goes. IMO. There’s give and take for everything right?

This is my dream bike. You're doing nothing but selling me on it. So now I'll be whining even more to my hubby.

The loose part I believe, and I guess you’re well lubricated I’ve seen some of your pictures. Its still a good looking bike for all the miles you put on it. I don’t think I can do that any more. I think 400 miles a day. Probably gonna be my limit . But I Applaud you for the 1500 mile Iron butt you you did . Take care my well oiled friend....😎👍
