One other beef on the speedo, it needs to be located where the gas gage and master start is at, and the gage start button below. Not just a glance when wearing a full face helmet, it’s a head bob.

Just about to roll my Roadmaster over 5000 miles. Had it for 7 months. Love it! Really like the color on your Springfield. Have mine since already 4 years and can not bring it over the heart to trade it in for a Challenger, which really, really was grown on me. I own a Springfield and have to agree 're Speedo. You have to really look down at it as opposed to glance. But I love it aesthetically. So I run a bar mounted Garmin GPS which is far superior is allot more accurate and has many other advantages. Biggest criticism would be the suspension. These bikes are built for smooth American roads. Beyond Tar snakes in Pennsylvania and road works in Maine most riders won't encounter rough roads. I know, I have ridden allot of the USA and Canada. But in Europe and especially Australia where I ride now, even sealed roads are much tougher. Better riding, but country riding is more challenging and dirt roads likely. You can ride on rough dirt I do it all the time but... you have to take allot of care. In contrast my BMW R1200R has a far superior sophisticated electronic suspension with ESA. You can adjust suspension while riding to soften it cope with bad conditions or load levels. The Indian's rear has some primitive bike pump adjustment but it isn't good. All USA cruisers IMO fail frankly in this regard. It is still a great bike but it is 2021 and the USA bikes are still primitive in the suspension department. But I realise most only ever ride on Interstates and highway 98 is considered to be a backroad! The Springfield is regardless an outstanding touring machine. You can ride 2 up heavily loaded and travel vast distances. I know because I have done it. Cheers

@TwoIndians3 жыл бұрын
Almost bought a Road King, didn’t for several reasons but am the same as you...don’t like a full fairing. I mean I wouldn’t turn down a new Challenger if it fell out of the sky LOL. @TwoIndians Жыл бұрын
Yeah the wind buffeting was something I got used to but no doubt it’s a real thing. The wind actually comes from the lower forks and rushes up the side of the tank. If you put your hand next to the tank while you’re riding you can feel the difference. A lot of people buy fork wind deflectors and I hear it really helps. I just sold the Springfield BTW. Two reasons why my wife and I didn’t purchase an Indian was the fact that we ride to up all the time and every Indian on the floor is a softail meaning mono shock. The other problem is the fact that they all have handlebars that lay down towards the driver even yours do I noticed with their ape hangers And I don’t like that look at all so it was off to the Harley dealer for me. I will say this one thing though I wish I had the overall experience that you’ve had with your Indian because my Harley was in need of attention roughly every 10,000 miles so far.
@TwoIndians2 жыл бұрын
On the handle bars, they are adjustable and I’ve had them in several positions. They’re currently raised on the Springfield because I’m using it mainly for short hops around town. As far as two up riding goes the mono shock can handle up to 650lbs of riders’ weight without bottoming out in most reasonable conditions. I know a fairly heavy couple on a Roadmaster that have ridden all over the county with no issues. Not to make an argument about it but Harleys shocks are than usable. It’s the first thing most people change on their bike. Conversely the zindian mono shock (by Fox) makes for the most comfortable ride, period. My buddy has a new CVO and he still says it’s nowhere near as smooth a ride as Indian. I get it though, HD has the market cornered on historic and legendary bikes. I wouldn’t mind having a vintage pan head myself. Thanks for watching. Check out our travel content even if Indian isn’t your thing! Peace!

So long answer would be yes, I believe there is a known tapping sound that does sound like a pushrod or valve tappet noise typical for all Indian 111s. I don’t find it any more bothersome that anything HD has put out but it’s certainly not as quiet as a Goldwing. My buddy rides a BMW R1200 and it’s about the same as far as engine noise goes. IMO.
