it' s great to have a companion who thinks in the same way as you do. I mean, both of you were ready to clear that abandoned land and to have your own fruit and vegetables. You guys are great! Inspiring story. Unfortunately, I'm divorced and it's difficult for me to dig, plant, etc. by myself. You both worked hard enough and it shows, the Quinta looks just Wonderful, my uncle and auntie, are looking down and smiling , " Thank you for your hard work!". The water in that big well is very safe to drink, I drunk many glasses of water from there, in those days there was no bottled water, and I'm still alive , as for the little well , it terrified me as a child every time I walked up or down the stone steps that are beside the well.

You proved many things, that you can start a new life and find new goals while retaining some of the things people from the past have used. There is another British couple in Portugal that are doing much the same, with ecology and natural resources restoring land and homes once abandoned. "Work, Do, Grow" is their You Tube channel. Both of you have an amazing work ethic, a way to imagine a stone wall and build it. May this year bring far more satisfaction, good food, and certainly a thriving garden, grape harvest. 🇨🇦❤️

My husband and I bought an old country house, about 200 years old, and we started right away with growing vegetables, that's our priority, then we started renovating the house, the two of us, completely alone. In addition, we now have chickens, pigs and one goat. There is a lot to sort out. That's why you completely I understand and share your joy. I'm only in my first year.
