Yannie the locologist recommends half rose water and half vitamin e oil in a bottle. Shake it up and spray on your scalp. Your hair texture is similar to mine, so good to know what mine will look like in a few more months. Thanks for posting.

Congrats on your anniversary, I hit my 2yr sisterlock in Oct of this year. we not that far apart. I took the retightening class back in Aug of 2015 and have been using the clip tool ever since.Your sisterlocks look beautiful. new subbie

Thanks Robin! I was all prepared to take the course. When I got ready to pay I realized that the course was only 2 hours long. I figured what can they teach me in two hours that I can't figure out myself? So I just researched and figured out how to do my retightenings.

Thank you! Well I usually do a 2 to 3 hours a day in front of the tv for about 3 or 4 days (not always consecutive days. I like to finish less than 1 week after I start). Every time I do it, I get faster.

For a moisturizing spray look at the "The Best Loc Retwist Spray Ever!!!" - Velvet Lox. I saturate my scalp with this spray, every other day and it keeps my scalp nice and moist with NO BUILD UP. If you don't want to use the recommended leave-in conditioner, you can substitute whichever leave-in you prefer. I also use "infinite Aloe" on my scalp and the ends of my hair (my crunchy ends feel like cotton after use). Go on their website to get detailed information about the product. Don't be alarmed about the price. I purchase mine from the vendors that come to Costco, at a tremendous discount. You can check with your local Costco to see when they will be there :-).

Love your locks. My hair is fine and thin also mainly on top. So I'm nervous about getting sisterlocks but I'm moving forward anyway. I hope to be locked by end of this month. How long do you plan on keeping and wearing your locks?

Congrats on your decision to move forward! When I got my SL's installed I did it with the intention to keep them for the rest of my life since they are versatile and can be cut. I had loose natural hair for seven years before I got my SL's so I really appreciate them. So far I still love them. I'll let you know when I start feeling differently!
