After building the log cabin alone in the forest for over a year, I now embark the next years challenges. Last year I ventured out, found a suitable spot, chopped down and dragged the necessary trees and shaped them into a four wall log cabin. You can see this in my "One Year Alone in Forest of Sweden | Building Log Cabin like our Forefathers" video: • One Year Alone In The ...
This year I build the log structure for the roof, lay the complete roof and floor, build an underground root cellar under the log cabin for food storage and prepping and much more.
I am now 21 and have built this log cabin from the materials i could find in my own forest in Sweden with only the simple hand tools I could carry in my backpack. Just like our Forefathers did. I had no previous experience in building, gathering materials or even filming. So I started studying the old arts myself and learning from my grandfather and mentor Åke Nilsson. I filmed everything myself using a tripod and edited this video so you can follow my journey and hopefully learn as I do.
There is still a lot of work left to actualize my dream. To become self-reliant. For example I want to start a full out garden so I can live out here only reliant on that and the forest. Big goal and a lot of work. So if you are interested in my journey then definitely subscribe to the channel.
The clothes I am wearing is from Revolution Race a Swedish brand. These clothes I use on a daily basis while I am working, hunting and so on. I have now partnered up with Revolution Race and received a discount code, that you can also use to get 15% off: GRANKVIST15

@@theOneThatWas Its diet. I was a bodybuilder for years, natural but even with what I thought was natural cooked food screwed me up. Psoriasis and arthritis, shoulder and back problems. I went on 100% raw fruit 4 years ago. The first year was hell on earth but my body seemed to know, to force me to continue. I am psoriasis, arthritis, pain free and back to body building on fruit. We are frugivores. All other food is survival food because our species migrated north. If interested. Go grapes, watermelon, berries and citrus for the first year. Build with bananas and medjool dates.

i'm fascinated thinking about the technicalities. -How often did you need to head back and charge or replace camera batteries or get extra supplies? -how many camera batteries do you have and how picky do you need to be about shots to make them last? -how far are you from a town or electricity/stores, etc? -Do you own the land or did you need permits to build? - It must be a pain going back for the camera after each shot. Either way, Your documentation is hugely entertaining and inspiring. Best of luck on the next one.

I appreciate that you left in parts where, as you were working, something or other collapsed, and offscreen you would have to drag the necessary pieces back again. It really hammers home the idea of what this is: arduous labour, well and true. Some people have this idealized notion that living out in the woods self-sufficiently is some fun aesthetic dream to escape their current life, when in fact it's just as rough if not more so, for different reasons. It's something that you have to be passionate about, like you are. It takes courage and willpower to move on from failure, and oftentimes that failure is something that you had no control over. For people for whom this prospect meant life and death--for whose families the work done each day signified whether or not they would shudder out in the cold another night--you really painted a vivid picture of just how hard it would have been for them while also showing the methods they needed to succeed.

@@connieh6136 Timber is much more sustainable than the other building materials we use. Most houses in Europe use an average of 22 mature trees anyways (especially as the houses are much bigger). Trees are a renewable resource so actually much better for the environment to use. If replenished (as seen in evan's clips of planting pines) then this process is a good way to remove carbon from the atmosphere (as the carbon from the origional trees is then stored in his home and new trees are planted which suck up more carbon). So this is a misconception that this is less environmentally friendly! But obviously we should use the houses that we already have, rather than everyone ditching their houses to build log cabins... but if you are going to build new this is much more sustainable than modern house building techniques. Best x

The important point is, though and apart from semantics: trees are living beings, even though very "primitive" and they appear to be skinned alive which would be not cool. So Orhan has a very valid point and is right to adress the issue. I am a Material Scientist, teacher, builder and have a keen interest in medical matters. You need to understand that when the human body is exposed to low temperatures and the core temperature is lowered , this can result in death. Humans maintain a temperature of 36.7 degrees Celsius, and sitting in water say at 5 degrees is quite dangerous. I teach construction at high school , here in Australia , and show students correct lifting techniques. Unless he used block and tackle, I do not understand how one man can lift some of those logs. Lifting weights wrongly will damage the spine and make the person unable to work. Seeing him lift that very heavy rock shows me he is doing things obviously wrong. There are many ways he can be injured, in particular, the receptive hitting of timber with an axe, He will suffer RSI, Repetative Strain Injury. I have used axes and mattocks and know, my wrists are not in best shape, he will develop early artrithtis.

@onikiristudios
@onikiristudios 2 жыл бұрын
@@thespecter6416 I see an axe, adze, drawknife, a rubber mallet, a peavey. These tools were invented literally between the 4th century and mid 1900s. These are by no means "modern" tools. No chainsaw, no plumb Bob, no scribe, no heavy machinery to debark trees. I think you are downplaying the amount of skill it takes to use what are actually quite primitive tools mostly used in the 1800s. But that's just my opinion...

Starts with a cabin, after that he looks for a woman. Then other ppl wanna live and learn with you (now you're a patriarch), after that u make some rules (now u have a group). When u pass away the group need someone experienced to be the new patriarch (now u have politcs).... Some generations later> today.

I think about doing this every day for like the last year. I work full time over 20 and hour and I can't even afford to rent a shitty mold filled basement apartment. I'm homeless living out of my uncle's house. All I have is my job and my car that I can barely afford gas for now too. I am tired of societies bullshit. I try so hard but it's never enough and I'll never get ahead.
