I have no skills in construction, but I had a strong desire to have a big house away from civilization. During the construction process, I made some mistakes, you can see them and avoid them when you build your hut. The most difficult thing in this construction is to find and bring the necessary logs. As you will be using the cabin in winter and have such a high ceiling, I can suggest a few things. I did my military service in Northern Sweden where we used tents in 39C/38F. In the winter we used a large metal plate that we hung up in chains a bit above the stove, also a good attachment to hang clothes to dry, the plate reflects the heat downwards. Make some baskets out of metal netting or metal bar netting, which you can fill with stone that stores the heat, so you may not have to wake up with freezing temperatures indoors. you can have stones behind and on the sides as well as a smaller basket that you can put on top if needed.

With the insulated elevated floor the ceiling is not high. And with every crack filled with foam that woodstove will keep it as hot as he wants it very easily.

Если избушка хорошее утепление имеет, и всё качественно сделано то даже в 40- до 50- избушка такая маленькая как эта легко держит тепло до утра. Там ещё важно что бы потолок хорошо утеплён была а тут её как таковой нету. Правда у нашей Охотничьей избушки печь из Кирпича была, тут я с вами соглашусь если печь железная тогда камнями обложить что бы тепло держало. Я вообще сегодняшних Охотников не пойму все стали такими жестяными печами пользоваться, хотя для короткого времени два три дня сойдёт.

You are strong like bull my friend. When you say you have no construction skills I beg to differ. Your determination is uncharted don`t sell yourself short. i think some things, the seam down the middle of the floor for example, he probably reached the end and was like "ah, yeah thats not the best way to do that." and trying to get ahead of the critics he made note of his lack of experience as a professional craftsman - im thinking a better way to put it is "i lack experience in the trades" or "I have no formal construction experience" etc. Skills, no doubt, I would trade a dozen guys that look to me every time the need to predrill a hole for one guy capable of standing back and determining the best course of action by means of common sense (and trial and error, which is the best, but hardest method of teaching someone on a jobsite). There are obvious things in technique and sequencing, but its 100% understandable and forgivable. I wouldnt be surprised if he were on expert level after one or two more.

Try to work smarter not harder sweetheart, draw everything out and then measure everything, gather your wood close and bring it to your point of placement and then cut to finish. You are a strong man and young so, don't hurt yourself lifting too much and God Bless You. USA/Tennessee

Be sure to keep a box of bark, a box of shavings, a box of tinder and your small twigs on up to your quartered wood and small to large sections of tree trunks. So many throw away their important wood sizes. Excellent building skills and a quality construction for apparently a one man operation.
