Robin and Zoro both were always meant to be lighter and they are lighter in the manga which is why they are lighter in the special episodes that were made to reanimate old arcs but the reason they were darker in the first place was due to some error with the animators back then which in my opinion they look cool both ways.

@@gold3374 It would’ve been very jarring to go from her being tanned to her being pale just suddenly since there was never a good time to correct it, while you can argue it is here at the very least her being in the snow for 2 years at least makes sense since that’s what usually happens when you’re in the snow for that long, but no the reason was because the anime gave her the wrong skin when she was never tan to begin with

You know what's funny? People think that the time skip design's for Nami and Robin are purely for fan service. And whilst I won't deny that they partly are likely, that's a really naive way to do it. I did a whole damn essay on it on a different video but to heavily summarize; Robin's new look is representative of her being able to be more open to the world and happy ever since what happened at Enies Lobby. Finally reflected physically on the outside the same way it was on the inside. As for Nami...she uh...she lived on a sky island. So you know... *closer to the sun?* So of course she's gonna get used to a skimpier style of clothing. You don't wear winter or even normal clothes when you literally live CLOSER TO THE SUN FOR TWO YEARS.

Robin always was this white in the Manga Illustrations, for some reason they made her skin darker in the Anime (probably because they met her first in Alabasta, wich is a hot desert country). After TS they "fixed it" still weird. Shouldn't have changed it in the first place or should've just left it darker

They used the timeskip as a reason to make her the right skin color (alothough for some reason they kept her eyes blue even though they're supposed to be brown). Canonically, she was always white.
