Hi! Thanks so, so much for this video!! My situation is similar, as I didn't apply anywhere else because I got into JHU early. JHU is great, but I was always upset I didn't go for my dream, Yale. My friend who had the same SAT scores and very similar extracurriculars got into Yale, which just further persuaded me that I should have aimed higher just as you said. How did you communicate this in your "Why Transfer" essay?

I appreciate your honesty in this video and on your channel as a whole especially with regard to question 2 and your response to the questions on the social life. I think a lot of graduates tend to exaggerate how much prestige and ranking of a university/college actually matters; at the end of the day it does help but I don't think you should let it define you. With regards to your answer on the social life questions, I appreciate the advice; I've always had a struggle socialising without an official social event in place; is there any extra advice you would give for this? Thanks again for the great vid.

Hey! Totally agree that it's important to not let society's judgements define you and your future. Hmm that's an interesting question re socializing and it totally depends on the circumstances. A mantra I like about friendship is: "high intensity, high proximity experiences make friendships" so if there's a chance to do something like that, like a hike or a touch class or a creative experience, I'd always say yes if making friends is the priority. If you have a couple good friends, making friends through friends of friends is great - like hosting a game night and having others bring new people. Depending on if you're a student or after-college, I can provide more tailored advice!
