I started watching when I stumbled on to you a couple years back when Mary was in the hospital for Thanksgiving. I have watched everyday since. What an amazing wonderful miracle the trikafta has been for you. I just am so happy you have this respite, although I hope it lasts your entire life.

You should have a “Trikafta Celebation” day or week every anniversary. Perhaps go on a little vacation, do something on a bucket list, donate to a charity, or have a party. It is defiantly a time to celebrate life.

Hi! I haven’t been to your channel in well over 2 years as I was very sick and getting listed for my double lung transplant. I got my transplant at 17(i’m 19, almost 20 now!) and Trikafta was FDA approved 2 weeks after my transplant so I love seeing how it’s positively affected you and knocked the transplant off the table for you rn

I've always said my favorite color is the underside of tree leaves when the sun is shining through them. It's just the epitome of life and being alive. I hope someday to live in a house with lots of big trees like you have so I can just be surrounded by my favorite color! You two remind me to be thankful every day and to keep taking the next step.

Peterrrrr!! You also brought in all that dirt before you planted the grass!! I love your backyard, and I loved watching that process. Also, looking back on how the new medication affected Mary - the first huge deal I remember was actually the move. A move is SO much work. And all of a sudden Mary was actually able to do stuff - a LOT of stuff. It was a lot of work. I remember. And that was the first miracle for me - that the new medication actually made your physical move possible. Incredible. So many miracles and blessings!

Hi, I’m Jodie from Melbourne Australia and I’m currently in a clinical trial for an infusion for a medication to help cirrhosis patients by helping the liver regenerate and hopefully prolong the need for transplant. I am so grateful to have been chosen to be patient number 8 of 12 in the world for this trial. I am so hopeful that good things will come out of this trial. So please know that we are working hard for liver health. 😊

We used to get nests in our hanging plants when we live in Michigan, they were Finches also. I had to be careful watering them, so, as not to drench the babies. It was so cute when they started leaving the nest. Your garden is doing very well, good job! Mary, you said how when you were going through the trying times you still had hope and you saw the good things......I believe that is because you have a strong faith. It shows you trust our Lord. You are so amazing. I started watching when you adopted your precious baby. You guys are so loving. You will be great parents. I know it’s not the same thing as what you are going through, but I deal with PTSD, grief and difficult anxiety along with chronic pain on a daily basis. Watching you all face your cystic fibrosis and how you find gratitude in the midst of the daily struggles gives me hope to keep trusting God for His timing and healing. I know He has a perfect plan for all our suffering.

It is mind blowing Mary. As well, awesome that you have shared this journey, your experiences, the good the bad and the ugly with us, even on the days you would rather not. You have been a brave teacher to many who may have been or just now even will be starting down the same path. It’s definitely not all been for nothing! I do not have cystic fibrosis, but many of the things you experience, needles/shots, pain and medications I have gone through and will for the rest of my life. Every time I see a new upload from you two I hit the play button intentionally viewing from the lense of how life should never be taken for granted. You two inspire me to accept my human emotions that are difficult as a person living a progressive chronic illness and intense pain, while also trying hard to let love and laughter and gratitude share space in me alongside those harder emotions. I am so grateful every single day that I'm here and that my little family exist and my little life in my little house has beauty in its existence. We cannot predict the future. Mary is evidence that even when the worst is expected, life can surprise us and gift us a blessing so life changing and unexpected and wonderful. That front porch seems the perfect place to sit and take in just how different your lives are today compared to what was anticipated to be happening when you bought the house in preparation for possibly imminent transplant. I am eternally grateful to have found your channel and to walk this journey alongside you both. My partner also gains so much from seeing Peter in his role of both partner and care giver. I am so happy to see you doing so well, Mary! It's been 4 years since I started the transplant approval process for a kidney, and after many hiccups and derailments, I was finally approved last week! I had no idea the process would be so grueling, I always just assumed if you needed a transplant, you got listed! Watching your story gives me hope that someday a better treatment option will exist for ESRD other than dialysis and/or transplant. Thank you for sharing your lives with us!

Many of us remember your journey Mary, watching your rapidly failing health. Wondering what was ahead for you and Peter. Peter making a huge effort trying to find your new home. We are also thankful that Trikafta came into your life. It was all meant to be because your house is so perfectly established for the extra hands that will be needed for your post transplant care. We are also so thankful you and Peter were given this extra time, with you growing stronger daily Mary, you were really ill when you went through your Duke assessment. It's been a real joy to watch you in your new home. Also watching Peter being given the time to relax and given the opportunity to find himself as well. Not forgetting that Ollie was given the opportunity to retire and enjoy his new home so much as well. Just like I feel sure if Harry hadn't come into your lives full time, his life would also have ended up being so very different also. He and Ollie have become like a very long time, old married couple. Grateful for the companionship in their lives together, with their humans who truly love them as well. I honestly don't know where all the time has gone too, let alone everything we have all been through. Very much living our own lives together but separately. Mary you are so right that an arterial blood gas draw is so painful, words simply can't describe it. I have only had it done once but I will never forgotten it either. Once was once too many times to have it done in my book. Just know that so much love is sent your way each and everyday.

It’s been so wonderful witnessing your journey. I appreciate your life attitude so much. You have helped me process through some very tough times myself. I have a new appreciation for your lungs and lung function and lung pain as I have recently undergone lung surgery and am recovering. Little did I know when I began watching you so many years ago that I would be able to relate on some level, certainly not the same, but a better understanding than before. I remember watching the transplant evaluation videos. At the time I too was very I'll and struggling with lung issues and infections. At the end of the video Mary you had been though a exercise evaluation and you had enough and you were crying and very upset. Well I remember going to the store and buying you a card for all the hard work you went though that week. My heart goes out two you both going though that very difficult week god bless you both.

I’m in BC Canada, I’ve watched you guys for years and I’ve been commenting a lot lately. I’m also seeing my pulmonologist next week to talk about double lung transplant when we want to start the process, I live 3yrs from my hospital and in a different province it’s the closest clinic so we may have to move. But I’ve had a lot of bad appointments lately and alone due to COVID-19 but what I’ve realized I’m doing is I tend to go and buy comfy clothing every time to the point I have to much but after a bad appointment I have to go back to my hotel alone and like having comfy clothing, I pack it but I tend to need to go buy a new set. It’s my way of feeling safe and in control I guess. I don’t have CF, I was negative when I was 5, I’m almost 26. With severe asthma and pulmonary fibrosis, tons of IV antibiotics and 10 other chronic illnesses. I’m now being retested for CF. Due to all my problems. I’m j tube fed and mostly NPO so I will also have my favourite drink after a bad / rough appointment as I’m also facing a lot of unknowns with my other illnesses and more surgeries I’m already covered in scars zippers around my neck and down my front and back and little ones all over. It’s been a tough 26years and you guys (and my poodle) keep me going sometimes

My mom had a double lung transplant back in 2014. But to even get on the list in Pittsburgh my parents had to move from Missouri to Pennsylvania. My dad quit his job and they lived in an apartment for 8 months waiting on lungs.. she was then in the hospital 2 months after her transplant.

I have a bunch of questions - if they are too much just blow em off but here goes Will you still one day need a lung transplant or are you good? Like did tricafta stop the progression ? 2. ( and this may be none of my biz cause it’s about your sister) is she on tricafta cause she has had a transplant is it like one or the other or can you do both? Last , you choose Duke and they had 15 of the operations you would need , is there a hospital that has done more than that and how many were successful - I hope you never need the transplant but I’m glad they can if you do

You guys are such an inspiration. My sister is going through a rough season. Her boyfriend lost his home due to a fire. He had just built it two years ago and my sister was living with him. They lost everything. Thankful my sister still has her old house that she built with her late husband, so they moved into there. Also my sister has a great friend that has been so supportive and my family and I have helped her as well from out of state. So things are looking up for them and the most important thing is everyone is okay.
