These years have been a big part of my story and I hope you'll enjoy hearing about them! For the latest videos and tutorials, subscribe to my channel: bit.ly/shaydachannel

So enjoyed your story. I am now 72 and a retired ELE. Teacher. My husband and I met in Paris, France at the American Church of Paris where I and my college roommate were living. We had a marvelous life there for 3 years. Later in our married life (our sons in college!) we moved to Stratford-upon-Avon, UK with my husband's company and lived there for 5 fantastic years. I have never regretted a minute of making those choices. Like you, we had things in storage for 5 years....and we realized, when we returned to USA, that we had gotten along very well without all that "junk", as you say, in storage! My husaband's great=niece and her husband quit their jobs and are nearing the end of their year of traveling the entire world! (They had saved for this for years.). As you and your husband realize, life is short...keep making those choices that allow you to live it to the full, sweetheart. Also, I'd love to buy things from your Geranium shop....please set it up so folks like me can order from you? Fondly, C.

Hi, Sweetie! I have been so enjoying all your videos and this one just really touched my heart! My hubby and I married while in college and lived in a 28' Airstream in a State Park near our university. In order to live he co oped, meaning he worked a job for 3-4 months in his field of engineering while I went to school and I worked selling shoes while he went to school. Then we'd switch and back to school for one of us. His jobs were always about 4 hours from school so we packed up our airstream and off we went. I became a transient student at the university near his work. We did that for two years then got an apartment for a year then we finally built our first home and began to put down roots and had our baby girl 6 years later. Then we moved around with her for a few years and finally, after my mama's passing, we settled in FL to raise her. Now, all these years later we have downsized again to a small two bedroom apt and we love it!! We too learned very early to get along! I believe we have such a strong bond because of those formative marriage years! Stuff is sooooooo unimportant! We have had little and we have had much, both money and stuff, and through it all our faith in God and love for each other is what has stood the tests! Our daughter, now 24, thinks we are a "perfect couple"....there isn't such a thing but committed, loving, faithful...YES!!! I am so happy and proud of you and your sweetheart! My hubby, John, and I go on a date every Sunday night and with his dying breath, he would tell you that is the reason all is so well. If he ever met Chris he would look him in the face and say, "Son, never stop dating her!" We make time for each other!!! I am a retired music teacher (not cause I wanted to be but because of a serious back surgery) and he is still an engineer. We celebrated our 30th anniversary this spring and are currently thinking of getting a motorhome and going back to traveling! You only live once and I wouldn't trade one day of our lives together!! Blessings to you both and should we ever make it to Canada we will come by the shop!!

Hi Shayda! I am a new subscriber and am so enjoying the freshness you bring to KZbin. Being from Alberta, one of the things on my bucket list is to travel across Canada and end up in PEI. (I am retired now so just have to save my pennies.) I would definitely visit your shop. As this is now Aug 2018, I am searching for updates on how things are going with your little shop. I I am also following your bullet journal videos as that has become something I am totally enjoying and you have given me a lot of inspiration.

I loved to hear about your journey thanks for sharing! PEI and Iceland in my bucket list! I feel like that way once we moved to new country (Canada) with 3 suitcases and a cat and since then lived in 2 provinces already. For sure Atlantic Canada is the best! Is THE PLACE to call HOME for sure! I wish to travel more but with my cat it is little hard .. your experience gave me hope that we can live from our craft, I would love to have a shop someday :) all the best :)

At the same time...please don't take this wrong... I was originally drawn in by your personality and talent. I would not want to see "personal life" videos take over your channel. Loved hearing your story and can certainly relate. My husband and I sold our house three years ago and hit the road in a 40-foot fifth-wheel, affectionately known as 'The Roadhouse.' Everything we own is with us wherever we go, i.e., no storage unit. Home is where we park it and we've loved every minute! Our thought was, and still is, if not now, then when?
