R Gray He’s an asshole with a lot of money, but supposedly he’s a Bruce Wayne with the ocean. In 1869 he can cleverly construct a submarine with electricity and plush living quarters, an organ, have suitable deep sea diving equipment, make tasty cigars out of seaweed lighting them with a seashell, and most of all, a fake luxury dinner of inedible sea creatures making you think you’re eating gourmet red meats, fruits, and vegetables.
@freyjairis1034 жыл бұрын
@r gray like seriously what’s wrong with that? Ok yeah he goes too far but what people don’t get is that Captain Nemo has a rough life. He was a brilliant scientist (and a prince) and the wrong people mainly the government wanted his scientific secrets so they would use them for destruction which is what he didn’t want so he refused and he was enslaved and thrown in prison while his wife and child were killed. Therefore making him see the world and the majority of mankind for what it really is and I’m sorry I don’t blame the poor man. You can’t trust anybody and people just go out of their way to make life hell for others for personal gratification and their own greed and evil, and it’s sad. Yeah he may have overdid it but if some jerks came after me and my own for something I have and they want to use for corruption while throwing my ass in prison and killing my family i would be pissed off too!

And that universe takes place in a fictional environment that has absolutely nothing to do with Earth. 20000 Leagues Under the Sea even though it is fiction does take place in an Earth-like Universe almost like a parallel universe in which case yes I would tell Ned exactly what I told you in my original comment. I just can't stand vulgarity at the dinner table especially when Captain Nemo could have killed them all. Even in the book Captain Nemo was a gentleman and told them that they were technically prisoners-of-war but he would treat them with hospitality. I think it's only fair to return said Hospitality with manners because it is a show of class. Now if Captain Nemo was torturing them or brutalizing them in any way or starving them then yeah I would agree with Ned I would be vulgar as well and insubordinate.... but that's not the case here. If anything the dinner scene was actually an opportunity for diplomacy between Captain Nemo and the three captives. But Ned being the vulgar harpooner that he was ruined any opportunity of that.

Captain Nemo: Yes my cook excels in preparing these products. Me: by any chance was your cook trained in Japan? Because experience Japanese Sushi chefs are the only ones that I know that can make Blowfish edible

Brisket of blowfish at that! That should be maybe 2 bites of food at the most making it from the neck of a fish that grows no more than 2 feet long. And basting it with sea squirt and barnacles? 😒

I had dolphin in miami in 1989 when I went to the Dolphins- Jets game on MNF. The dolphin tasted like beef liver and coat me &45.00.😝 However, the alligator for $14.95 tasted like pork with a fishy taste. 👍🏻I shoulh have had the Cajun Alligator with the alligator sliceopen for $50.00. I coud l have tried a marlin steak for 25.00. He said it tastesdlike firm tuna.I am getting hungry. Go Phins! And I am from Raider Territory.🏉

Emperor Constantine 1. Same as eating conventional American food. If we saw how our meat is made from the time it’s slaughtered until it ends up on a dinner plate, we might be more repulsed than eating sea creatures passing as red meat, fruits, and vegetables.

You would think Kirk Douglas' character as a sailor in the 19th century would be glad to enjoy such a fine meal! Instead he spits it out and yell _"Nothin' here is fit to eat!"_ and would enjoy eating hard-tac while having all his teeth fall out through scurvy than have a proper nutritious meal from the sea.

Hey if I was there I'll eat it, I mean why not? Most of us eat Sea food anyway an being trapped on the Natuelus for a lengthy period might as well eat the best from Nemo!👍👍👍☕

Recently I learned that people believe that Nemo has been 'white-washed' because he's usually portrayed by a white man and he's supposed to be an Indian. However, there is a problem with that: it doesn't fit the description in the novel. One of Arronax's points in his description is that he is "rather pale." How many Indians can be described as such?
@jondstewart6 жыл бұрын
Wesley Molt The book portrayed Nemo as a total enigma. I’d say he was a Brit or of mixed British and Indian ancestry raised in India by aristocratic parents at home to be highly intelligent. Sort of a Bruce Wayne of the sea that knows how to construct a submarine with electricity and luxury living and how to make a gourmet meal that tastes like veal, lamb, cream, and tasty fruit out of otherwise supposedly inedible and forbidding sea creatures.

His ethnicity was questionable because Verne made it questionable. Apparently he had Nemo as Caucasian at one point, but this was changed later to Indian. Probably the best solution to this - as Nemo is an Indian prince - is that he is biracial.

in the sequel, Verne makes it clear that Nemo is indian. A Sikh, as a matter of fact, and they tend to be fair skinned. as far as indians go.

Nemo was a Polish aristocrat, hence there is a scene in the book where there are portraits of Polish national heroes in his cabinet. Poland was under the Russian Empire back then, and he is a survivor from an unsuccessful Polish revolution against the Russians where he loses his family. There is actually also a scene in the book where he destroys a Russian ship sent after him. Jules Verne's family also had Polish roots. His publisher warned him in the last moment to do some correction in the book so as not to piss off the Russians because of the fragile political relations between Russia and France back then. Therefore, all the evidence of Captain Nemo's Polish identity and his hatred of the Russian Empire was concealed and then he becomes Indian raja.

How exactly does one milk a sperm whale? Also what is Nemo doing to that beverage?

He is messing with the beverage so he can continue talking without food in his mouth.
