Why should he feel ashamed? He's a hero in my book.He did nothing to feel ashamed about. It's more to the story on their parents... You can even tell when Steven was speaking on his life back with their parents; you can tell he wanted to say more (& yes I know it was partially due to the change) but his mom answering the question as he as spoke volumes & for the parents to turn cold against the children that they were already aloof to once Steven went missing... just tragic & sad
@susanhull28552 жыл бұрын
one of the people being interviewed said that when Steven played the part of the cop in the movie, he made money and that he blew all that money on alcohol, cars, drugs - and then it is described that LATER he met his wife and settled down, had 2 kids. However, when the movie was being made, he was ALREADY a husband and father (according to the Hulu documentary series currently on called Captive Audience) - so I think the timelines might be incorrect with some of the info being shared?

Even Timothy White, the 5 year old that Steven rescued, grew up to become a husband, father of two, worked as a Deputy for Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, but then died so young at just 35 from a pulmonary embolism. It’s cruel that they strived to live normal lives after all they had been through, and then their lives ended in random ways beyond their control.

I think Carey didn’t know how to handle the sociopathic mental space. Idk what he’s been diagnosed w/ but you can tell in his younger years by the look in his eyes that he tried to connect to people. Carey just couldn’t. People that fucked up in the head will refuse meds & any other sympathetic help.
@dennishardy38693 жыл бұрын
@@introspective_One Well all of you can sympathize with Carey all u want. Truth is he didn't get help for his so called condition. No instead he totally managed to kill a woman, her 15 yo teenage daughter and their 16 yo family friend. And do his best to cooperate answering questions with detectives in order to not be suspected. Then a few months later kill another woman. A Yosemite Park Naturalist Joie Armstrong and decapitated her head then when he realizes there on to him he flees YNP and heads to a nudist colony in Sacramento. Where they finally capture him. So instead of ever seeking any help out at all of his sick and evil fantasies. He just goes on his killing spree. And 4 wonderful ladies are in there graves. Nope he gets 0 zero sympathy from me. Let him rot in prison til he dies.

I have done some reading about this family. I learned about Steven Stayner but not until his reunion with his family in 1980. I was living in Prunedale in 1972 with my Mom and older brother. I was unaware of what happened to Steve. And knew nothing of older brother Carey. I am 8 mos older than Cary. I feel so sad of what happened to Steven. But I feel nothing for the older brother. The Stayner parents IMO were the absolute worst set of parents God ever created. They were not their for any of their kids. While I sympathize of their concern when Steven was abducted but to carry on the way they did with their other kids was totally pathetic. Carey knew he had issues. Friends knew he had issues yet nothing was really done IMO. Carey himself did nothing as far as seek any kind of counseling for his sick/evil fantasies of murdering women. Their is always someone to speak with. Not just hide your fantasies and smoke Marijuana. His Dad Delbert was about as pitiful as they come. You help make 5 kids you help take care of 5 kids. Yet unfortunately because Carey did nothing to try to help himself by seeking any help nor any of his family or friends this guy travels to beautiful YNP not to get away from his problems but to hopefully be able to play out his sick evil fantasies, since childhood mind u of murdering women. Managing to hide his true intentions and land a job at a most perfect spot then scouting around like a cobra lurking through the bushes seeking his female possible victims. Then when Carol Sund, Juli and Silvina show up and Carey notices them with no man with them BOOM he's found his first victims. I am so sad of what happened to those poor women. I pray Carey suffers in the worst way. I pray that Delbert is burning in hell for being the worst Dad u could ever imagine. As far as their Mom Kay. I'll just say I hope she can make peace with God. She wasn't brought brought up by a loving father either from what I read. That's about all I need to say. May Steven be RIP. May his kids be OK.
