I played both. Ghostrunner is easily better, it's not even close. Edit: so much CDPR fanboy cope. Cyberpunk is a below average game that doesn't do a single thing well. The story isn't good, the characters aren't good, the combat isn't good, the open world is dead, they clearly cut a significant amount of content and rushed the game out the door, and CDPR couldn't even deliver on the RPG aspect. Ghostrunner is one of the most fun games I played this year and at it's pricepoint is a no brainier.

Cyberpunk 2077 is broken in so many aspects, it is not finished like at all so the game quality suffers and there's nothing wrong with you enjoying it, you do you, but I don't want to support developers who force their employees to crunch and then release a blatantly unfinished and broken game, this is unexcusable and simply bad quality.

3:00 I dont know why, but these hectic ressource management games are probably the only subgenre of games that I just "cant" enjoy lol, its not even that its too stressful, I love it when games try to focus on negative emotions as a tool to craft their art. Its just something about it that just doesnt work for me, which is weird because RTS games are basically exactly the same concept, just more complex - and I absolutely loved everything from starcraft to town builders like banished hahaha, but shit like this and overcooked just... no You guys got any genres that just dont work for you.. at all? I played the Longing and I loved it! I understand some people don't like it due to the slowness of it or they find the endings unsatisfactory, but It was one of those few games that actually made me feel really attached to a game character - the shade (and of course the spider friend RIP), and constantly left me with this mysterious feeling. One game that truly blew me away is Mindustry. It is essentially Factorio with a bigger emphasis on tower defense. What bugged me about Factorio was sometimes the my unwillingness to rebuild things knowing just how long it would take and how many resources I'd be wasting by doing so. Mindustry is all about building new bases over and over with increasing efficiency as you attain more technologies. It also focuses much more on combat offering a great variety of towers to construct to fend off invaders and the ability to produce combat units yourself.

Void tyrant is a really good roguelite/deckbuilder on phone. It's main mechanic is an "attack gauge" that fills up by drawing (facedown) cards with values 1-6. But you can influence these values (as well as other effects) by playing hand cards, so despite the somewhat random nature it rarely feels like you are getting destroyed by rng. And while microtransactions exist, it's far from P2W.

So this video got me into Deep Rock Galactic, and I'm basically super addicted now. I normally don't do multiplayer, but DRG makes co-op so much more fun and actually co-op-y I haven't done a solo run once ever since I tried multiplayer. It really helps I think that classes synergize really well in various aspects. The engineer's platforms, for example, are kind of a poor movement tool by themselves, as it takes a lot of platforms to scale up walls or over any sizable gaps. It's possible, sure but it takes a while. However, coupled with the scout's grappling hook or gunner's zipline, it makes travel way way easier since it removes the one weakness both the ziplines and grappling hook have, namely their need for a platform to land on at the end of the travel. The classes work on their own and they bring their own unique tools, but they also work together really well, so being on a mission feels like I'm actually working together with all these people rather than working besides them.

A game that im sure flew under a lot of people's radar this year is Mad Rat Dead, a rhythm platformer kind of like crypt of the necrodancer, but with a surprisingly decent story and fun gameplay

I'd been playing DRG off and on for a couple of years now, then when it officially came out I got some friends to give it a shot and since then weve sunk some 300-ish hours into the game together... good times. Rock and Stone, brother!

thank you for pointing out that spiders in real life are very much harmless and good re: Kill It With Fire. some people get weirdly aggressive about certain bugs being ~evul~ and it's disturbingly relieving to see SOMEONE acknowledge that actually, spiders are Vibing

I hope you are proud of yourself. You just made me add about a dozen games to my steam wishlist. It's not like there were already seventy games on there. When am I supposed to play all of those? Tell me! Seriously though, I'm so glad I found your channel. Your videos on various topics made me check out several games, some of which you only showed in passing. Furi, Opus Magnum, The Witness, I think the Dark Souls series (got all achievements for the first game and started the second right before Christmas), Ori, and, just a few days ago, Hue. You also contributed to me giving Undertale another chance after the beginning had failed to grab me. And then are the various games I wishlisted because of you. I don't know all that made the list because you anymore, but Heaven's Vault, Return of the Obra Dinn and Outer Wilds are among them. I also often find myself revisiting your videos after playing these games, since I can now see them from a new angle. In no small part because your videos are excellently made, and even if the title doesn't catch my interest on it's own, I have yet to regret clicking one of those videos anyway.

Check out Deep Rock Galactic on the Steam Charts website to see the spike in players after this video was published. It had been sitting at a 10,000 player daily peak all month but is now steadily climbing past 14,000+ players as of right now. I love to see it, thank you for shouting out one of my all time favorite games.

Never heard of this channel before today, but I got introduced to some very interesting games. Subscribed! I've already played a bunch DRG, and Clockwork God and monster train has been on my wishlist for a while but most of the other were news.
