the thing about fl studio is that it is really good in a specific workflow which would be electronic beatmaking, as soon as you go into recording, using devices, live sets and mastering it isn't that good, also I can't stand the ui but that's me lol
@_mickmccarthy11 ай бұрын
@@ruzco4873 To be honest I've found recording super straightforward, same with mastering. On devices I just have my MIDI controllers and audio interface and haven't had any issues there. Its performance mode does seem pretty inferior compared to Ableton, but it's not something I make use of so I'm not overly fussed on that front. But I definitely see that DAWs do tend to differ quite a bit in their workflow, so it can be hard to adjust to a new one if you're used to something different. For me, FL was the first one that I properly dove deep into so I'm sure if I tried jumping to Ableton/Logic/StudioOne etc., i'd feel completely lost!

NAMM is ultimately a place to talk and show stuff to store owners and dealers, and it costs quite a bit to get a stand there. If you’re mostly selling directly to your users (and why get it from a store when you can just order it straightaway from the website?) there is little benefit to go to there.

Using Mio XM 12 to run 2 Win 11 PCs simultaneously using my MPD 32 as the primary transport controller and the Arturia KeyLab 61 MKII as my midi controller. Reaper allows MIDI/MMC control to run flawlessly. The other DAWS are like ‘You wanna do what now?’ 😂

@nicolask.5134 I started with Adobe Audition until I was unable to find solutions to my issues. Then Pro Tools until my ilok (a ridiculous feature) affected my work flow, and finally Logic, which has the most awful support section (specially when you buy new gear and you want to troubleshoot). REAPER has never had any issues with me, the support i refer to is asking the community how to automate features or how to get an old interface to work properly. Those experiences can't be had with any other DAW.

As far as the best DAW? The one you use. To humor the conversation. Out of all the DAWs I have used in the last 24 years. I have to say Studio One. I have been using Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Reason, Ableton Live, Digital Performer FL Studio. I started using Studio One when it was at version 3. Then I fell off of it. Ableton Live because I’m used to it and it’s just easy to get around. Flexibility of session and arrangement view are awesome and also folder management. Favorite folders are great but I wish there was a few more. It’s not at all pretty but it’s functional. I usually track with Luna and then mix and in Ableton or jot down ideas quickly. Beforehand it was Reaper which was great. I’ve used Logic which is also very good and the more time you spend with a daw the better you become with it. So I don’t know if it’s the best but it works!!! Pro tools I have used but I have never become comfortable with it

The DAW you like really depends on your genre and workflow. I tried logic, can’t stand it. For me, not supporting vsts is deal breaker, but also the interface is so minimal and sleak that it’s unusable to me. Ableton also has a weird workflow for me, and the track routing is confusing. Reaper is the best because it’s the open world daws, doesn’t force you to work a certain way. and you can essentially build your own daw with custom actions, shortcuts, and layout

Great vid! I started on C-LAB Notator SL on Atari STE, whilst dodging frequent sabre-toothed tiger and mammoth incursions. Today I compose/edit/capture in Ableton with RX on sample editing duty, then I mix in Logic. This affords me super efficient use of what little time humanity has left! Cubase is alright. A Tascam 80-8 half inch reel to reel with Alesis 1622 mixer and Midiverb lll did the business. Luckily the EPS16+ sounded fantastic (at any sample rate) which made up for the Midiverb.
