The micro wood clamps are the absolute best. I had to make a repair to an extremely tiny ivory statue and the repair needed to be held in place for 10-20 minutes. Without these clamps the repair would have been impossible. They worked like a charm.

I love Ott lights, too--even found bulbs for my ceiling fixtures in my studio! But I also needed good clamp-on lights for my large work table (leather work & fabric sewing), and I really love the ones by PHIVE that I've had for a couple years now--adjustable temp/color, brightness, and very well made and easy to position & they hold that position until you move it (unlike so many).

@sus8e Thank you for the clamp-on light recommendation. I'm hoping the magnification, plus adjustable color temp & brightness, are just the thing to get me working upright again! :)

Neat little vacuum! What a great way to remove that universal bane of crafters, the stuff that gets into everything... GLITTER! A fellow crafter calls the stuff "craft herpes". I made candles that I used dollar tree glass stars embedded on the outside, then dipped the outside with colored wax with very fine iridescent glitter, carefully scraping that wax off the glass stars so they were like little windows. They look so pretty when lit, but I'll never get that glitter out of my dining table! (totally worth it though).

I think that I have most everything that you have shown plus a few more. I love my Ryobi glue gun. It goes with all of my other Ryobi Tools. I also have other glue guns. I do not have the miter shears because I have 2 sizes of miter saws, including one small one from Ryobi that works with the same batteries. I have multiple Dremel and other brands of rotary tools. I have the spray paint can gun and it doesn’t work well at all after 6 months and I am part time crafter. I do think the concept is brilliant and will try a not so expensive brand next so I can have multiple of them. I was attaching vinyl to Christmas decorations and needed good lighting so I took my hubbys battery operated makita work lamp and it’s my go to now. In fact he took the idea when adjusting watch straps at Christmas.

@LazyIRanch2 жыл бұрын
This is totally off topic, but just too cool not to share! Six years ago, a neighbor found a fledgling raven that was rejected by it's parents because his beak was bent. She called me to take him since I'm retired and crazy about animals. I took care of him for about a month until he could fly. His beak improved but always had a gap which didn't affect his ability to eat. I turned him loose, but he chose to hang around since I put food out for him. When he was a year old, he disappeared for a few days, but came back with his mate (they mate for life). About 3 years ago, I started finding odd things near my doorstep outside my bedroom; an old Casio watch from the 80s, single earrings, porcelain doll arms, and many machine parts and even small wrenches (he's watched me use tools). One day he was cawing with excitement so I ran out to see what was up. He had a small pair of snips in his beak, which he dropped to the ground, then perched at the edge of my roof to watch my reaction. They are a very nice pair of Fiskars sharp-tipped pruning snips, like a bonsai artist would use! I had a similar pruning tool I bought at Dollar Tree but it broke. He must have seen me using it. How smart these birds are! When he's happy, he does a little dance where he hops in circles with his wings out, so I did my best imitation of his dance to show him how much I loved his gift. He responded in kind. I made sure he saw me using them. They are perfect for trimming the manzanita branches I use to make parrot perches, and for poking holes to put grommets in the heavy canvas I use in my goat pen for rain shelter. I named him "Igor", and his mate "Elsa", and have enjoyed their friendship for several years. Last Spring, they built a nest right under my solar panels, and I got to watch their 2 fledgling offspring learn to fly. I appreciate that Igor and Elsa trusted me enough to build a nest close by. Sadly, Igor and Elsa left once their babies were independent. I hope they are well. Good news is, those "kids" stayed here, and since they've always known me, they are even friendlier! I always buy big bags of peanuts for them, and they get the skin and bones from the chicken I cook for my dog. One of them is at my door right now, loudly reminding me that I'm late with their breakfast. I live on 20 acres of mountain wilderness, off-grid with solar/wind power. No neighbors for a mile. My husband left me @ 8 years ago so now it's just me and my 30 yr. old son who is disabled due to schizophrenia. I went 6 weeks once without seeing another human, when my son's illness caused him to require hospitalization. Most people don't understand why I love these ravens, and other wild birds I've met out here, so much they seem like family. Sorry, like I said, completely off-topic except I really do love those Fiskars snips they gave me! One of the most thoughtful gifts I've ever received.

Great list! One of my favorite tools is the Gator micro zip sander. I also got a few of the sunbeam gooseneck lamps from dollar tree recently. Great inexpensive choice for bright light when youre doing close up work. Question for you about the miter shears. I have a pair but I have trouble using them to cut anything thing, like a single Popsicle stick. Am I doing something wrong or are they just meant for thicker pieces? Thanks!

Micro zip sander... that sounds like something I need to look into. As for the miter shears. They are meant for smaller things like popscile sticks. The do require a little force. The thicker the object... the harder it is to cut. 💕
