I still don't understand why actors having a wage gap is an issue, don't the actors negotiate their own salaries before signing the contract? Plus an actor with a higher star power will obviously have a higher quote. I do believe in fair compensation, but i also believe that experience and exposure to the industry counts for an actor's bankability.

Dishonorable Mention: *SO. MANY. CANCELLATIONS! -You know that one kid that gets bored with their brand new toy after playing with it for only 5 seconds? If even THAT MUCH? Netflix has essentially become THAT KID! Over the years, Netflix has cancelled SEVERAL promising shows after just one season, usually before the show can reach it's true potential. They're also not above betraying their own shows too, such as what they did to Inside Job for example. Bottom line: At the end of the day, it doesn't matter if you're one of the lucky big names or someone still struggling for your big break. Backstabbing. Is still. Backstabbing!

Netflix is finding itself in a position where they've basically trapped themselves in an endless content production death spiral. They need to spend hundreds of millions of dollars every year on a whole swath of new series so they can keep viewer interest and their stock value up, but in order to pay for the next year's batch of new shows and movies, they have to cancel all but the most successful/least expensive stuff from their previous year. They're coming into a situation where if a show is not Stranger Things levels of popular from day one, then it's not worth keeping around in their eyes.

I miss the old Netflix. Living in Europe, you already get the short end of the stick - lots of Netflix content is not available here. Then Disney got greedy and now Netflix has so much low quality content, it's barely worth watching. I'm using Netflix mostly to watch K-dramas nowadays.

The fact 13 Reasons Why managed to get a complete four season run while 80% of the rest of Netflix's lineup barely manage to get one season, two if they're lucky, is one of the most disgusting things Netflix ever did. That dog crap show glamorized suicide as the solution to all your problems, they had verifiable proof that it led to an uptick in teenage suicides, and instead of casting it into the garbage heap where it belonged, they kept it going for longer than it had any right to because it brought in viewers. What a sickening company.

The biggest scandals from Netflix that left me outraged was 13 Reasons Why, Cuties, Blonde, and the Monster anthology series. 13 Reasons Why- Showing a very graphic scene of Hannah committing suicide and trivializing mental illness. Cuties- Sexualizing 11-year-old actresses and still having the movie on their service despite the major backlash. Blonde- Exploiting Marilyn Monroe by spreading lies for profit and triggering viewers who went through sexual assualt, abortion, childhood trauma and/or miscarriages Monster anthology series- Humanizing Jeffrey Damher and not involving the victims’ families and possibly doing the same thing with the Menedenez brothers with the trailer just released yesterday.

I remember watching that scene in high school, the show was basically written to be binge watched and by the time it got to that scene it was super shocking and brutal, but what really scared me was how short it was, as soon as she was done this thought popped into my head “that’s it, it only takes a couple seconds to do that.” That was a horrifying thought and it scared me.

@@audreygrace568 I read the book before watching the show in high school and my mom had a discussion with my siblings and I when the show was getting tons of attention because of its subject matter. Okay... I get the idea, but I'd say pairing Porta dos Fundos' special with all the other stuff in this video is not fair. When you put it together with Goop's pseudo-scientific bullshit, or straight up sexual predators, you're taking away from the fact that they just exercised free speech in a comedy show and were the target of a hate crime. It kind of sounds like blaming the victim. And honestly, their previous special showed Jesus as a selfish asshole, but these zealots weren't bothered by it, no bombings happened because of it. What they couldn't take was the idea (obviously fictional, no one is saying that's a historical fact) of Jesus as a gay man.

I have been a subscriber to Netflix since when they used to mail out one DVD to your house and then you would return it when you were done. I've been with them for a very very long time. I believe that I'm about to cancel my subscription from them because of one huge issue that has been addressed to them and they will not give you an answer. I see the thumbnail of a movie that I want to watch on Netflix, it's in English, the synopsis is in English, when I go to turn the movie on it's not in English it's in another language. All of their foreign films, which I like, are marketed as American films. When I contacted them about this issue they told me that it is the way that their business is setup and that it is the same in every other country. So I said hold on! So you're telling me that if I lived in India and I turned on Netflix and I see a movie with a Hindi title and I go to play it and it's in English that's the same thing that you do all over the world?.... I have no problem with foreign films I like them very much except there is a time and a place when I want to read while I'm watching a movie. But don't show me a movie on Netflix with Noomi Rapace called The Trip and I read the synopsis in English however whenI turn it on it's in Norwegian! And I refuse to watch dubbed films, they are horrible. The actor isn't even doibg the dubbing so there is really bad voice over actors. It takes me out of the story. And as I say this I bet their prices are going up. I'd like to thank my VPN service for helping me get what I want. 😂
