Went to Israel in 1978, saw the scroll of Isaiah in the shrine of the book, fascinating how God leaves no doubt that his Word is true and eternal and we have no excuse to reject him, the one spoken of throughout the old testament, and identified in the new testament, John 5:39

We looked at the serpent in the desert and then we looked up to the cross of Christ but now we look inside our souls and accept the SPIRIT OF GOD within us. We must truly understand that our Lord, our creator and Father had to suffer because of us. The trust that he had for the Father gave him strength and focus. The Love he had for the Father gave him peace and clarity. In times that we must suffer, we must also find this clarity and strength through our Love of Christ Jesus and trust all things in him like he has in the Father. Isaiah 53 shows us that our Father Jesus and his children share the same unity as the Father and we must stay focused by the guidance of the Holy Spirit and trust in all things that are governed and directed by our Lord. His Kingdom prepares for his Sheeps and his Sheeps patiently waits for his Shepards call. All Glory to our Father who sits in the right hand of the Father. Have mercy on us all.. It is true what he says about the Ashkenazi Jews and Isaiah 53. The Jewish converts that I've heard give their testimony all have said, that when they first were asked to read it, they thought it was from the Christian bible. They never realized it was in the OT, and when they heard it, they realized that He was the messiah.

Why does the Lord repeatedly refer to us as sheep or like sheep'. For example, "all like sheep have gone astray'. Notice it's always sheep that get sacrificed and substituted, for us and our sins, so our sins be forgiven. From the beginning in Genesis right up to New Testament gospels, sheep or lambs are sacrificed. John the Baptist, when he saw Jesus said, "look the lamb that takes away the sins of the world!" We are called to be like sheep, gentle humble, submissive accepting, surrendering to the shepherd, never rebellious, obedient to the shepherd, coming when the shepherd calls (,My sheep hear My voice) never angry willingly entering the shepherd's gate and gated area. Willingly accepting the shepherd's mark and His dipping (baptism) washing. Willingly allowing itself to be separated from goats. On a sheep farm today the shepherd calls sheep to him to form a single line (the narrow path) while standing to operate a swinging gate that opens access to the left while closing access on the right and when swung closes the left and opens the right. Thus sheep are sorted as we will be, heaven from hell. It is written, "The Lord is my shepherd..." And it is so. Psalm 23. But is my behaviour sheeplike? And it is often not so!

Because Jesus is the good shepherd, who gives his life for the sheep! (John 10:11 with Psalm 22) He is also the great shepherd who tends and keeps his sheep(Hebrews 13:20 with Psalm 23)! Not only is Jesus our good and great shepherd, he is also our chief shepherd, whom shall soon come in His glorious majesty! (Psalm 24 with 1 Peter 5:4)! Of all the significant details mentioned of this powerful message...I really missed and was surprised that Chuck does not mention and refers back to Lev. That the soul is in the blood...and Christ poured out His Soul unto us, bought us into covenant through the redeemed Blood of Christ on the mercy seat, reference to the Tabernacle and therefore the Father was satisfied... fulfilling the promise of covenant. Over Passover, fulfilling the Word of the old, Isaac, the promised son, in the new, the Covenant Son, Jesus Christ...our God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.... otherwise powerful!

@Aaron Wolfenbarger if you read Lev 17:11...in context...it goes on to say to make atonement for your souls.... in many bible translations life is refered to the soul....read the different translations. In Isaiah 53...Jesus poured out his soul on the cross which is the Blood.

Hello NarrowPathMatt714, I have a question. at 3:35 Chuck quotes Matthew 12:39 as saying "that same Isaiah". Would you happen to know what version of the bible he is reading from? It doesn't appear to say that in in the KJV or NIV.

ISV Jonh 12:39 This is why they could not believe: Isaiah also said 40 “He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, so that they might not perceive with their eyes, and understand with their mind[u] and turn, and I would heal them.” The Latin spells it Esaias but the quote is the same as in Isaiah, The word is translated the same in Greek, ASV, ISV, NAB and so on. Sometims the KVJ needs a little help. I'm like'n the ISV for a backup. The word "also" is making the point that there is only One Isaiah. The NIV says "as Isaiah says elsewhere" also saying that it is One Isaiah. KVJ says Esaias the same as Isaiah in Greek. Matthew 12:39 is different in some ways, but it's a good comparison. Isaiah says were blind, Matthew says He's not gonna show us anyway, the wicked, that is.

NarrowPathMatt714 Interesting. Do you mind if I ask you another question? It would appear that Isaiah‬ ‭39‬:‭5-7 copies 2 Kings‬ ‭20‬:‭16-18, and Isaiah 37 copies 2 Kings‬ ‭19‬:‭9. The scholarly consensus is that 2 Kings was written sometime between 560 and 540 BC. So if the prophet Isaiah lived during the 8th century BC, how is it possible that he could have written all of the book of Isaiah?

It runs backwards, if I may say that, Isaiah lived before 2 Kings. The Bible isn't in chronological order. G-d's King Messiah is unique among all of the men of the Tanakh however. G-d crushes him with disease (puts him to grief with illness) so that he will offer himself for his guilt and the guilt of the Jewish people to suffer chastisement, bruising, crushing and punishment by G-d’s word's, hand and power until he is suitable for the prosperity of G-d’s purpose. Making him like He made Ezekiel as hard and brazen as the Jewish people. He is the prophet like Moses a redeemer, Elijah the messenger a teacher and herald of the time of the new covenant of the forgiveness of all sins of the Jewish people, and a descendant of David who battles and wages war (a man after G-d’s own heart). He is by the words of G-d “My righteous servant who makes the many righteous”. This man is part of G-d’s prophecy of redeeming the Jewish people as He promised and foretold by His prophets when they returned to Israel and made it bloom again. A man of suffering, familiar with disease: Jesus wept one time. He is never portrayed as a man of suffering, familiar with disease. Yes, he suffered at death as did legions of others in his time but he was not a man of suffering during his life. He was never diseased. As a colon and skin cancer survivor with over twenty-two surgical scars from many different accidents including a gun shot to the abdomen, emotional scars from a dysfunctional home as a child, and 20 years of head and jaw pain from nightmares and grinding my teeth I am a man of suffering familiar with disease. None of which prepared me for the suffering I have endured by the words (chastisement), hand and power (bruising and crushing) of G-d after I offered myself for guilt to HaShem (though He removed the nightmares and constant head pain). Just like Ezekiel who is punished for the sins of the House of Israel and Judah. I am the man described in Isaiah 53 the righteous servant of G-d. The redemption will include the building of the third Temple in Jerusalem. All 14 plus million of the Jewish people are all forgiven of their iniquities and their sins are remembered no more by G-d. They are all a Holy seed. Just as they were when the second Temple was built and He opened the way for them with Cyrus of Persia and sin forgiveness (Isaiah). LOL!...Isaiah 52:13 - 53:12 is all about King Uzziah! The king Uzziah, who actually lived & ruled in the days of Isaiah, was a very strong and righteous king, who won wars against the enemies of Judah, and who "did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah had done" (2 Kings 15:3)... However, despite being a "good king", Uzziah became sick with leprosy - hence: "his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any human being" (Isaiah 52:14) - and, at that time, leprosy was considered to be a "punishment from God" (as it is written in 2 Kings 15:5: "And the LORD *infected* (וַיְנַגַּע) the king, so that he was a leper unto the day of his death")... Now, since Uzziah was a righteous king, Isaiah could not understand why "God *infected* (וַיְנַגַּע) the king with leprosy" - as if he was some "criminal" or "sinner" or "wicked" just "like all the rest of the lepers" - "though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth" (Isaiah 53:9); So Isaiah thought that the king was surely not punished by God for something "bad" that he has done himself, but rather that the king was punished for the "bad" things that his people were doing at the time, like: "the people still sacrificed and offered in the high places"(2 Kings 15:4)... Thus, Isaiah wrote: "for the transgression of my people he was punished" (Isaiah 53:8)... And also: "He has no beauty or majesty; and we see him, and this sight is not something we desire (וְנִרְאֵהוּ וְלֹא־מַרְאֶה וְנֶחְמְדֵהוּ׃). He is despised and rejected by mankind, a man who suffers pains, *and is known to be diseased* (=וִידוּעַ חֹלִי), like one that (God/people) hide their face from. He is despised, and we held him in low esteem. Surely he took up our *illnesses*(=חֳלָיֵנו) and bore our pains, yet we considered him *infected* (=נָגוּעַ), stricken and tortured by God. But he is *desecrated/diseased* (=מְחֹלָל) by our transgressions, oppressed by our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace is on him, and by his bruise we are healed. *We all, like sheep, have gone astray,* each of us has turned to our own way; *and the Lord has laid on him* *the iniquity of us all*." The idea that the king/leader is held responsible for what his people are doing - just like the shepherd is responsible for what his sheep are doing - and will be punished for their deeds, is well emphasized in verses like: *"My anger burns against the shepherds, and I will punish the leading male goats (=הָעַתּוּדִים); For the LORD of hosts has visited His flock, the house of Judah"* (Zechariah 10:3); *"Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones"* (Zechariah 10:3); *""Woe to the shepherds who are losing and scattering the sheep of my flock!" declares the LORD. Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel upon the shepherds that herd my people: "Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD""(Jeremiah 23:1-2).* At this point it should also be noted, that the idea of a king suffering, punished, or even being sacrificed for the benefit of his people, was not something unique which "came out of the blue", but was rather quite common in many other cultures & religions throughout the ancient world: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacred_king www.irishcentral.com/news/bog-bodies-are-kings-sacrificed-by-celts-says-expert-129289548-237410131 The problem with Isaiah 52:13 - 53:12, is that the late editors of the book of Isaiah took this text out of context (They must have thought it belongs to the "My Servant, Jacob" Genre [like in Isaiah 41:8; 44:1; 45:4, etc], which is an allegory for the people of Israel who suffered in exile and were promised to return to Zion); The late scribes who wrote 2 Chronicles 26 made up a false story as if king Uzziah was punished for trying to steal the job of the priests, and thus "deserved it" (The late scribes who wrote Chronicles WERE PRIESTS themselves); And the translation to Latin and English is very bad - so the people who read it don't understand that it's talking about someone who GOT SICK. However, the Hebrew words which are used in the original text are very clear & specific: "חֹלִי, חֳלָיֵנו הֶחֱלִי" are all words that mean "Sickness/illness/disease" (NOT "wounded" or anything like that!); and the words "נָגוּעַ, נֶגַע" mean "infected/contaminated/diseased/plagued" - and are often used to describe leprosy (As in 2 Kings 15:5: "And the LORD *infected* (וַיְנַגַּע) the king, so that he was a leper unto the day of his death")... The verse: "He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation?" (Isaiah 53:8 KJB) or: "By oppression and judgment he was taken away. Yet who of his generation protested?" (Isaiah 53:8 NIV), are both very-very bad versions of translation for the original Hebrew verse: "מֵעֹצֶר וּמִמִּשְׁפָּט לֻקָּח, וְאֶת־דּוֹרוֹ מִי יְשׂוֹחֵחַ". The right translation would be: "He was taken *from* ruling (=*מֵ-עֹצֶר*[see: *"יוֹרֵשׁ *עֶצֶר" as *"ruler/magistrate"* in Judges 18:7; and also: "זֶה *יַעְצֹר** בְּעַמִּי" as "he will *govern* my people" in 1 Samuel 9:17]) and *from* judgment (מִ*-מִּשְׁפָּט*) - and (thus) who will talk to the people of his time/generation?"... The meaning is that the king Uzziah was taken from his throne - on which his job was to rule and judge his people - and thus the people of his generation were left with "no-one to talk to them" (i.e, no-one to hear them and take care of their problems, and/or to tell them what they should do)... And, finally, the verse: "For he was cut-off (כִּי נִגְזַר) from the land of the living" (Isaiah 53:8) actually refers to what is described in Chronicles: "And Uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a house set apart, being a leper; for he was cut-off (כִּי נִגְזַר) from the house of the LORD" (2 Chronicles 26:21) - So the words *"he was cut-off (כִּי נִגְזַר) from the land of the living"* could be just a *dramatic allegory* for *"he was cut-off (כִּי נִגְזַר) from the house of the LORD"...* Moreover, The words "dwelt in a house set apart" - which appear both here and also in 2 Kings 15:5 - are also a very bad translation of the original words in Hebrew "וַיֵּשֶׁב בְּבֵית הַחָפְשִׁית"... The term "בֵית הַחָפְשִׁית" (house of the "hophshit'") refers to an isolated quarantine site where the lepers have dwelt (i.e, a "lepers colony", "leprosarium", or "lazar house"), away from society (i.e, "the land of the living"), and the term "בֵית הַחָפְשִׁית" itself is actually a nickname taken from Canaanite language "Bet Hapthatu" meaning "the home of the dead" (literally "house/home of [the] free") - which was the name for the "underworld" or "kingdom of the dead" in ancient Canaanite mythology... *So this is how someone can be both "cut off from the land of the living" and yet still "see his offspring and prolong his days" (Isaiah **53:10**) - The king Uzziah was still alive, but "living in the house of the dead", and saw how: "Jotham, the king's son, was over the household, judging the people of the land" (2 Kings 15:5)...* *"Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first and last, wrote Isaiah son of Amoz, the prophet" (2 Chronicles **26:22**)...*

Isaiah chapter 53 is about the suffering servant Messiah that atones for the sins of Israel. This is according to the Rabbis of old wich wrote the earliest commentary on Isaiah known today called the Targum Yonathan. In it it says that the servant Israel and the suffering servant Messiah are 2 different servant. The suffering servant atones for the servant.

You should read Isiah 41 Isiah 43 Isiah 45 Isiah 48 or Isiah 49.3 you will find the suffering servant as Israel. In Isiah 53 Jesus is not named, there is no mention of a messiah. Also if you read the passage in contest it is not Isiah who is speaking, it is the people of the world as they discover that the Jews G-d's suffering servant was right all along.

Did Darius save Israel? or did G-d save Israel? Darius was a servant yet he is a savior. he was also a gentile. Isiah foretold of his coming. If G-d willed a message to us, it seems he used Isiah and others. but Isiah wrote in a scroll, of Darius, that Danial held, amazing. G-d doesn't regard humanity as good thing. If G-d did have to send his Son to die for us, knowing that those who put him to death, me included, why would he put his Son's name there. NO he wouldn't, the Bible isn't a magic show. You read it over and over, study it back and forth "here a little there a little" and if G-d chooses he will open your eyes. That is why I fear G-d He may not show me something I need to know. He did show me Jesus died for me and you. My question to you is Has G-d showed you everything? or has a Rabbi. Am I just building an ark or could it be, there's something more to Isiah than Israel? On a side note: can you imagine what the rabbi's thought about Isiah, writing about Darius? They may have wanted to get that out of there, because they didn't know...

Stay with the context. There is no prophecy being fulfilled - as like 700 years later here. And there is absolutely nothing in this text talking about a future messiah. It´s still talking about the nation of Israel - being "the suffering servant" - even if in singular, for Isaiah is still talking about the Jewish people - like when they were called out from Egypt - even then in singular - "my son".

Interesting, in the Gospel of Matthew when the Angel warns Joseph to flee to Egypt the writer says, "..so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet, 'Out of Egypt I called my Son'" .... funny that you chose that particular scripture to prove your position when we have a New Testament verse that pretty much supports the Christian tendency to interpret certain Old Testament texts as referring to Jesus. Frankly Jesus can be found throughout the Old Testament in many surprising ways. When you right out the meanings of the names of the Genealogy of Adam from Genesis chapter 5 in order you will find the Christian Gospel hidden there as plain as day and that's just one example.... have you ever read the descriptions of Christ's crucifixion in Matthew and then compared it to 22nd Psalm? Have you thought it just a coincidence that the blood placed on the door frames during the passover has a striking resemblance to the shape of the cross? And these are just a few thoughts... we don't just depend on Isaiah 53 to come to these conclusion about the identity of Christ... the sad part is one day the anti Christ will come and I fear Israel will mistake him for their Messiah, and that will be a very very sad day indeed.

You do realize that Jesus Christ has many names, just to give you a simple one. John 1:1 In the beginning was the word, the Word was with God and the Word was GOD. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. There are many more, His names are found throughout the Old Testament. I hope you’re truly searching and I pray for your heart to be opened to His precious Spirit.
