Does Lilo actually play around Be Prepared? I've been struggling with this card so much. Aren't passive abilities only active when said card is in play? So if you have a Lilo in play and then she is banished via be prepared....at the start of your next turn you can't trigger the ability...because the card is banished...it's ability is no longer active? So the only way to make use of this ability is to have 2 Lilos...one in play and another in your discard? Thanks for any insight.

Lilos ability can trigger from the discard pile :)! So before you draw for your turn if you have her in the discard you can pay ink and play her from there

I believe that Castle does not trigger if you do not already have a character in it
@LorcanaGoons24 күн бұрын
It will because castle has no prior trigger conditions - you check for castle characters on resolution of the set phase

I need confirmation on the Speedway location. I don't think the character needs to be dry to move them. The Speedway is exerting them, it's not an ability the character gains.

I thought the same thing but have been ruled that the character needs to be dry to still pay speedway cost :(

@LorcanaGoons I'll be honest, rulings like this (and more recently the new John Silver/Resist Debacle) are really unhealthy for the game. There is clear disconnect between the design team, whomever has final say on card language, and those responsible for final rulings. I accept that they have the authority to make rulings and we have to live with it, but that's wholly different than being accurate within the established rules of Lorcana. It feels like they're making it up as they go along. Without proper testing, yeah, that has to be done. But it doesn't make me feel comfortable longterm competitively when so many of these rulings are so difficult to find. Every LGS will play this game differently at some point.

But the rule is, that I can only exert dry characters, right? I agree that the wording could be more clear more often though 😅
@ThespianGamr24 күн бұрын
@@anikaschulz4541 More specifically the rule is around the 'exert' symbol versus the word exert. If it uses the symbol, the character must be dry, if it uses to word, they can be wet. Binding Contract is a great example because it uses both. The character exerting to pay for using it must be dry, but the target may be wet.

@anikaschulz4541 If I play one character followed by a card that allows me to exert chosen character, is mine "wet" character a viable target? As I understand it, yes. That's why Speedway should work. But as another comment noted, there is a difference in that the Speedway uses the exert symbol instead of the exert word.

I have a question, Twin Fire says “ discard ” A “ card “ doesn’t specify between you or your opponent. Can I pick my opponents card to discard in this case? And if the answer is no Then how come something like treasure island “ deal damage to chosen character or location “ can mean mine or theirs? Same with the playful sorcerer , I can deal damage to my own card ( albeit if my opponent doesn’t have any character cards out) or my opponents.

Hi! Thanks for watching and asking Twin fire’s text means YOU have to discard a card to trigger the second ability (not your opponent) I’m not sure how to explain the Exact reason on how to interpret the text but In basic terms: cards in the hands of both players are not public and are in possession of the players Cards on the field are public and no longer in possession but instead they are in “control” of the player You pretty much can’t interact with cards that are in possession unless a card specifically says so Cards like sudden chill or We don’t Talk about Bruno are worded in a way that specifically mentioned the opponent discarding while Twin Fire does not and usually in TCG’s card text goes by precedent and literal interpretation This is just verbatim tho - but for a better explanation of the comprehensive rules I highly recommend joining the official lorcana discord and asking the # rules section because they have official judges who can better explain :)!
