The Evo X community is a strong one and I’m really glad I joined it. I’ve always been strictly a 90’s shit box muscle car guy but after spinning out my daily driven trans ams in the snow one too many times, I decided to move on. Buddy of mine sold his Camaro SS and bought a WRX so I followed suit and bought my 2010 Evo SE. love it to death. AYC pump died within six months.

Just to contribute to the conversation. I'm in a similar boat as you guys. Owned a 2011 GTS for 6 years (Still own it), couldnt afford an Evo at first. Eventually was able to buy one. Did my research, Found a reliable private sale. Bought my 2015 Evo X GSR, $22,000USD 40k Miles on odometer in 2019. I did have to rebuild the transmission shortly after purchase due to pre-existing issues. So that was about $1500 almost right out the door. No major issues since. Tuned soon after transmission rebuild. It's been reliably making around 400hp for over a year basic bolt-ons. If anyone is on the fence about buying an Evo X, it's absolutely worth it. Even when things are going wrong with this car, they're pretty fun to work on, they're a blast to drive, they sound great, they turn heads on the streat, and they maintain their value really well, and you can do basically anything you want on this platform. There isn't really a downside outside of the Evo tax. Just keep it under 550 unless you're baller status.

Thats an insanely good price on both the car and the rebuild man, what a steal!

@@Huntsteven6 To clarify, the car was in an accident and declared totaled before purchasing it back after the accident. previous owner spent a ton of money rebuilding and fixing the car and had it recertified before I bought it. Hence the cheaper price.

The majority of Mitsu owners have one day owned a Subaru... Very few of those who first had Mitsu later bought a Sub. Think about it... Whatever people say, at the same age, the standard Mitsu will always be more efficient than the standard Subura. To decide between the undecided, we can strictly say that the Sub is first an engine, the Mitsu first a chassis!

Only 1 fact check! around 6 minutes about the evo x being the best evo you mention that the evo x has ayc which helps them keep up with older evos however every evo after the 4 has ayc! It is the acd that the evo x has that the others do not, but the evo 9 does have acd. @Huntsteven62 жыл бұрын
An Evo X will always have It’s past, it’s raw performance feel and it’s insane appeal that will always be desired. It’s becoming increasingly more rare and few in between. Compare it to an S chassis or an r32-34 gtr, so many new awd turbo cars outperform those models yet they are so much more wanted. When you buy an evo, you’re not just buying a car, trust me, ask anyone that owns one.

@Huntsteven62 жыл бұрын
Turboing a lancer se/gts is a huge undertaking but if you’re equipped I’d recommend the ralliart turbo kit instead of the evo x. That being said, I have been in your shoes and my best advice from experience would be to just save up for an evo. The reason being, the money you will spend on that turbo project is a lot, and at the end of the day, the base model lancer engines are not made for that, so you won’t be able to make as much power as you’d want, while at the same time risking your engine because the internals were not made for that. Also, a clutch upgrade would be required and many more. Hope this helps

Long story short I had sti and a evo x, the evo is faster, less stress then the sti in terms of repairs and mods, X corners fastest by far better then the sti that's why I keep the evo x....my X is a 2008 and tuned my Kosmic. now I have the SST AKA Auto-manual(automatic as he say) the SST is by far faster then the manual. AND I REPEAT IT IS NOT, I SAY AGAIN IN CAPS THE X IS NOT THE DAMM SAME AS THE RALLY ART, the rally art don't have the SST Mode like the Evo X you have to get that program in and it still don't behave like the SST mode in the evo x, why because again I had a rally art in my possession, Now what he said at 7:20 you would ONLY have transmission problems concerning the clutch basket because of LACK OF SERVICE. I had mines for 4 years so far and the less I drive is between 70 to 130mph, am always driving fast can't help the car is just fun to drive. Now back to the auto tranny, why i never have problems with it and am waaaaaaay over the mileage he just said at 7:14 and still today never a tranny problem, why? There is a small baby transmission oil filter to the side of the tranny, most people FORGET IT and don't service or change it. YOU HAVE TO, I change mines the same time I do a engine oil change, just change the filter that is next to the tranny each time you change your engine oil filter, simple. After you change that make sure you fill the cup its in with Diaqueen oil for the tranny, no need to change the tranny oil unless you reach the recommended mileage. Once you do that your SST tranny will LAST.....am 4 years and going and I am much over 400HP. The car give me NO PROBLEMS, why? I service my car like REGULAR, I even change my plugs on my second oil change, meaning let's say i service my X today its just normal service but my next oil change I change my plugs as well and check my coils for spark leaks, checks all your hoses for leaks, simple, show your car love you'll get loyalty. Oh plus I change my radiator fluid on my third oil change. But just remember that EACH engine oil change, please change your Tranny oil filter that's in a little black cup holder to the side of the tranny.
