I made an Oogi Boogi costume for thirty dollars using burlap sacs from the hardware store, black yarn, magic marker, and some wire wrapped in in paper that was sewn into the burlap to make the face. Best home made costume of the party.

Amazing cosplays! You just forgot to mention that their cost goes up based on disposable money and resources; every 3D printed piece costs at least 20$ per piece. I've seen an accessory, once, it was a Vision from Genshin Impact and it did cost almost 40$. Now apply this cost to every part of your cosplay. The price even raises up if you want to buy the 3d printer instead of commissioning your entire work(Cosplay is about the creation, not the wearing or photo session). One "low budget" good 3d printer costs about 3000$ and requires many skills for mainteinance, setting and to Know what base material to use to print the pieces. If you use the wrong one, they all fall down like bad sewed fabrics. Don't get me wrong, i love cosplay and i like this level of creativity very much, but among all the cosplays showed i would vote the "Halloween transformers" among the others: low budget, creativity and fun for the whole family. Special mention, the little Wonderwoman: there lies the real intention about bringing kids close to this passion: express their love for their fav character(s). Same goes for family cosplay, just like the Transformers; i could bet the more fun about it came from realizing it then wearing it alone :3

$3000 for a low budget 3D printer? You can buy good quality, not low budget, resin 3D printers for $500, and PLA 3D printers are usually much cheaper.

If anybody knows how to make costumes, do you think you could help? I want to make a Carrion costume, but I don’t know how I don’t even know where to start. I don’t know the first thing about making costumes let alone, a shapeless meaty blob. For those who don’t know Carrion is a monster made out of flesh and meat with eyeball strewn all over it and several mounts it basically resembles a fleshy plate of spaghetti that’s why those who play the game call it the spaghetti monster, if you like horror games you should try carrion it’s really fun and I think it’s only $20 on steam. It’s on the switch too. I recommend getting it on the computer though you have better control of your character. Switch is still good though the controls aren’t hard bad or anything. And by helping me, I mean, people who know more about making costumes probably know what you can make the costume out of or what’s better . I don’t at all what I’m doing. I’m thinking I’m gonna buy like a big blanket and just cover me with it and then cover the blanket with shiny stuff and blue and red string to mimic veins and LED lights because the monster has glowing eyes. And as cotton to add volume to the inside of the blanket so you can’t see my body shape. I don’t know how I’m gonna do the mouths though because making them out of felt and just showing them on wouldn’t look that realistic or scary….

Just curious, I'm white. If I dress up as Doomfist with bodypaint and all that, would that be considered blackface racist or would it be a fan looking up to his idol? I've seen it done the other way around many times, but never a white person dressed up as a black person.. Should I risk it?

I haven't seen really dark skinned people go full on white for a cosplay unless it was an unnatural white porcelain color. Like straight up white no pink/red undertone at all. Usually they stay in their natural dark skin even if they're cosplaying a fair skinned character. I think the general rule of thumb is--if it's an unnatural skin tone such as green, gray, red etc. then sure go right on ahead, but if it's a natural skin color that's several shades different from your own then it's best to stay as you are. Cosplay him--keep the white body paint and everything, but don't change your skin color.
