The best thing about this channel is that his inventions are actually really stylish and practical most of the time, an idea I have for an invention is essentially sub zero boots with liquid nitrogen, so like the fire shoes but they shoot both cold water and liquid nitrogen so there’s instant ice, idk if that would work but some type of shooter that actually creates solid ice would be cool

That was epically cool, JLaser! In theory, you could have worn a skin tight latex suit underneath the magnets to not have the ferrofluids touch your skin. I understand your unwillingness to not attempt another build it this kind, but I think you should have gotten more pictures of different poses before removing the suit. Great job on figuring out the ball magnets and their ability to transition the ferrofluids evenly! I'm so stoked by this entire concept. 💯

At 9:03, with the nail and magnetic coil, I actually experimented with this phenomonon for my 7th grade science project when learning about electromagnetism. I ended up creating a sqaure out of it, putting a battery compartment in the middle to power the coils, and a stick attached to the battery compartment to hold it. It was like a hammer magnet, rly cool.
@mantacid12213 жыл бұрын
Instead of tiny magnets, what if there was electromagnet wire wrapped around your limbs under some sort of fabric that the ferrofluid could easily come off of? Then you could reuse the fluid and control where it goes.

That would take a lot of energy to make and electro magnets make lots of heat and can catch on fire easy if you don’t use high quality wire (which is expensive) and it takes lots of wire to wrap around an electro magnet to make it strong. Great video! A suggestion: Veritassium applied a superhydrophobic aerosol paste to his body and jumped into a pool without wetting himself. Maybe you can use something like that, but with an oil repelling property since the ferrofluid is oil-based. If not on your body, you can at least cover ur table tops with it so that whenever the ferrofluid spills over, it can be easily collected without wetting the surface.

Food for thought, using a few layers saran wrapping on the outside of your magnets should allow you to remove fluid with no loss

Make Han Solo's blaster from Star Wars: A New Hope. I know Hacksmith did something with a flare, but you could use an actual plasma shot. Even if it's only single-action, that'd still be amazing.

Maybe attaching a stronger magnet onto the system might help you to collect the terrofluid back up instead of de-magnatizing the entire system.

There is a paint called brand x liquid latex that most people use to create cool designs on their body, but I’d use it in a way you’ve done here with magnets. I’d add magnetic particles to the brand X and apply it to my skin, adding two or more layers. After letting it dry I’d add the ferrofluid. And IN THEORY, the ferrofluid should cover my painted skin evenly, giving the venom look. That’s just my idea of how to improve this.

I've watched the anime "Megalobox" and thought it would be so cool if it existed in real life. So, I suggest you make the exoskeleton without sacrificing the speed or fluidity of the punches. If I had your skills & knowledge, I would be building a real life Jaeger from pacific rim, in an underground garage, even if it would take years lol.

I like how at the beginning you thought about trees getting water tens of meters from the ground, then said pump (only grape and few other plant generate pressure with roots to pump water up) and then tried capillarity with paper towels (only flowers use capillarity as it is impossible to get water up to more than 30-40 cm with it), ignoring the fact trees use osmosis to get water to go up xD

This is probably the coolest experiment I've seen. Pretty dope. The only thing left is to add a venom helmet. Just gotta be careful the ferrous fluid doesnt get in your eyes, mouth, and ears.
