That thing has a XL7005a buck converter for the fan, it's set to 12.6V lol so in theory you'll need to feed it 13.6V min (15V) to get the fan running at full speed, I ended up hardwiring a 5V fan to be always on and I'm feeding it 6V (there's another 5V buck that needs min 1V to operate)

I ordered one too. It would be nice if you could use the pot while in operation to ramp up current instead having to pause and adjust on the other screen. If it is possible on newer units, pls let me know. I do like the 4 wire kelvin connection to monitor the wattage tho. More than good enough for the new hobbist in the game

It is a neat and cheap load. they coud add an green connector male + female that detaches and has the screws for external connections as in the DC DC power supplies eg DPS5005, but maybe price would be higher

I just received one from aliexpress, and it had the terminals moved to the right side! So far, I'm impressed with it for the price. Measurement accuracy is not great, but all readings I've taken are accurate within 2%.

As always, yet another great video. Well done and much love from Canada. I do have one suggestion, use a tripod or a moveable arm (search for 'magic arm') to hold your camera still. You can connect the video output of your camera to say a used computer monitor so you can easily see if your review is in frame/focus. Otherwise, great audio, great editing and very informative. I look forward to watching more of your videos. cheers and Happy New Year 2022!!!

I bought a 400w load from eBay recently. 140€. Cost more but it’s way better than these 30-60w loads. CC CW CV CR mode. Battery mode and remote sense too.

Looking for one to measure Capacity on LiFePo4 batteries. Need a few hundred Watts and at least 30Vdc. Maybe a FET Project ? Internal Resistance would be Gravy but mostly just looking for Ah and Wh. Suppose one could use a Shunt to Larger Load Resistor and use this one .
@pyromen3214 жыл бұрын
I'm thinking about doing a similar project. I'm thinking I just use something simple, like an opamp, mosfet, big fat shunt and a microcontroller for data logging and control.

For a load up to 35W the ZKE EBD-USB+ is my new favorite from China. Usually i don't like it that much when lab stuff needs a connection to a PC, but for a load i like it a lot when i can setup automatic tests or log the data through a Windows application. It can act as a load, or as a simple current/voltage logging device between a power supply and an external load. Andreas Spiess did a while back a great video about it and after that i had to purchase it (about 23€). kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHWmhJt-Yt-dZrc I use it pretty often for my arduino / esp projects to log the power usage for a while and check if the deep sleep really works or to get a nice discharge curve of batteries.

Paul!! was just reading another comment, telling you to take care of yourself!!!! SO DO look after your self, iv noticed that you dont be feeling 100% a lot of the time!! i know that your more than likely retired & on your NAVY Pension & what ever this channel plus merchandise makes you, but we need you here!!!!!!! i feel a little giddy inside when you post a new video!! No joking!! and im sure im not the only one.... to me and a good few others(i bet my life on it that they think this too) your up there with legends like Dave Jones, Big Clive, Eletro-Boom, and all the other top guys ETC... your regular viewers would agree with me HANDS DOWN!!. so take care of your health & watch your diet.. coz thats the cause of 90% of all your bad day'z for lack of a better word... OH YES BEFORE I FORGET!!!! i know how you can cure yourself of the Exceimia(i know im spelling that wrong but its the flaky skin) but it take round about a year, but it will work i grantee you. what you need to do is 1st/ cut out white bread & brown, altogether. 2nd/ you need to cut out all diary from cows, im mean all.. use goats milk & cheese thats something you must take as part of the cure!!(so its important) 3rd/ cut out sugar "COMPLETELY" all sorts thats very VERY important!!. now there is loads of snacks you can eat that has no sugar in them at all.. NOW THESE ARE VERY STRICT RULE'S IF BROKEN "WILL" SET YOU BACK MONTHS IN THE CURE!!/(ROAD TO CURING YOURSELF) Now If you have a back garden(which id say you have) my advise is to get a "Goat" female of course.. and milk her every day(just boil the milk for 4/5min's to pasteurize it) NOW IM NOT MAD OR MAKING THIS UP, I PERSONALLY KNOW LOADS OF PEOPLE THAT THIS CURE HAS WORKED FOR!! THE 1st WAS MY LITTLE COUSIN, THE 2nd WAS MY 1st PROPER GIRLFRIEND WHO HAD "SER-EYE-IS-SUS"(I Had To Brake It Up Because I Can't Spell The It, But She Would Get t On The Elbow's And Knee's & Stress Brought I On Bad) SHE STUCK TO THE RULE'S AND NEVER BROKE THEM ONCE AND GOT CURED IN THREE MONTH'S, WHICH SO PROUD OF HER BECAUSE, I KNEW HOW MUCH IT MEANT TO HER COZ SHE WAS EMBARRASSED NY IT... I HOPE YOU READ ALL THIS MESSAGE PAUL,, COZ I MEANT EVERY WORD, AND I HOPE SOMEONE HAS HEARD OF THIS CURE OR BETTER YET USED IT TO GET BETTER.. COZ IT DOSE WORK 100% NO BULL!! YA!! KNOW NOW WHEN I THINK OF IT!! IM NOT EVEN SURE IF YOU NEED THIS PARTICULAR CURE!! BUT OF YOU DO ITS HARD TO FALL INTO OLD HABITS & SET YOURSELF BACK!! ANYWAY PAUL SORRY FOR THE LONG MESSAGE... I THINK IT THE LONGEST IV EVER WROTE IN A COMMENT SECTION!!! BUT PLEASE LET ME KNOW?????? IF THAT YOU WILL TAKE MORE CARE OF YOURSELF, WE NEED YA?????

Hi. I don't understand what this unit is, what it is for and why you would use it. Could you enlighten me in a few words? Many thanks.
@learnelectronics4 жыл бұрын
An electronic load places stress on a circuit. This is used to test how the circuit will behave under load. For instance, say you are designing a power supply. It will behave very differently when open circuit as compared to when there is a load on it.
