This is a very North America (Canada/US) post 2010 definition of the sound. You're missing 140 Dubstep, Purple Dubstep, Deep Dubstep, Bristol (UK) Dubstep, South London (UK) Dubstep as the obvious few. Even certain record labels can be used to describe a Dubstep style. Looks like UK, European, New Zealand, Japanese dubstep does not reach the US audience. Very insightful examples, and good definitions of what is being produced across the pond. Hopefully this inspires you to expand this list.

Wubstep could really be compared to something like a brostep spin on purple music. I got into dubstep in 2007 when the tempo was slow, the bass was deep, and the melody was wobbles. I'm not bashing this stuff at all, but it's so crazy how it evolved from that grungy, dank, reggae vibe to this stuff. Almost feels like entirely different genres.
