Hey hey!! Thanks for watching today’s video. Of course if you home can you can can your own meats, etc. In today’s video I’m sharing options you can buy in store, because a lot of people don’t home can or have that option! ❤

You are so darn helpful Tam! I love how realistic you are. You can and do make delicious food but if it comes down to an emergency situation you're sharing how to do that with basic, simple stuff. I feel like you're one of the most informative food/lifestyle youtubers out there and your effort does not go unnoticed! Thank you!

This is a really great list of dinner ideas for emergency situations. I want to start prepping for the future but i know i need to start small and get at least a weeks worth of meals on hand and then work my way up to more long-term food storage. Thanks for all you do!

Ha! I’m way up North and just stocked my winter pantry. It’s always fun to go “shopping” in the pantry when the snow is flying and the wind is screaming. Great video!

With the scalloped potatoes and ham, you could also use one of the canned hams like you get at Aldi. I really need to look for the ham you show, but I always forget to look for it. Did you say you get it at Walmart? Now that you have a canner, I go back to my comment in a previous video, can your own chicken. I've gotten a rotisserie chicken from Kroger and taken the meat off the bone and canned in water or chicken broth, or even cook your own whole chicken and can the meat. The texture is great, and it even tastes good cold. I use it all the time to make a chicken, broccoli, rice and cheese casserole. And from the bones you can make your own chicken broth to have on the shelf. No waste!

Yes, I got the ham at Walmart! Not everyone has a pressure canner or has that option, so I’m sharing foods people can buy in store. Im canning some meats next week!

@@SouthernWifeEverydayLife I knew why you were sharing those things, and I’m glad you are. It even helps me to think of new ways to put things in my stockpile together to save us from going out. The other is to encourage you and give you ideas! You will love having the canned meat on your shelf. It’s a good way to put things up when you find your deals and save freezer space.

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for, thank you! Shelf stable ingredients AND meal ideas. Bow, I know what to look for to stock specific meals and can now see how to pull together our favorites to build a plan. I was just getting in my own way and making this harder than it has to be.

Tamara thanks so much for the video. Great easy ideas. We had electric stove when we moved in & 1st thing my husband did was run a gas line & switched our stove over soI can cook on stovetop so these are good ideas. I loved the demo on the charger. I live in Ohio so we have similar weather , I have been lookin for something like this. Actually I would like to get a big generator but they are so costly. I see it has an additional $60 off which is great!

For your canned chicken try draining it and frying it to crispen it up. Then add Fajita seasoning, or Taco seasoning for your meals. I also season it with homemade "Blackened Chicken Seasoning"

I have other emergency meal ideas in my prepper pantry playlist ❤️ I haven’t canned any of those yet. I just started canning this past summer and haven’t got the courage of rebel canning milk, etc. I haven’t tried hots dogs, I’m sure the texture would be the same as Viennas.

It would be wise to also get a charger that fits to your vehicle so you can charger your phones ,be it an old school that fits in cigarette lighter or in a car with an USB port. I know in my Durango the front cigarette lighter hole only chargers when vehicle is running or for 5 min after turning it off, but the one in back of truck you can use anytime. Learn what you can do before you need it ! Good luck everyone. We got this !
