Just started playing fiddle recently, and have played guitar and bass for over 15 years, and this is by far my favorite channel I've seen for any instrument. Incredible format, topics, and presentation.

Absolutely one of my all time fave's. I've heard it played and performed by many different artist all my life. Me, I love the original version like you have done. There's a lot of good stuff that can be done with this tune. I saw Charlie Pride live in Cumberland County Auditorium back in '68 and he did a very good version as well. That was a good show ....... omg!. Great job Chris !! Thank you Sir !!

This is great, I’m stubborn and have tried to teach myself the past 8 years but need to use great resources like yourself.

I love this song, musical nirvana in just two chords! Seemingly so simple, yet harbouring a whole mess of spicy possibilities. I do a live looping version, it's perfect for that. Great choice for a lesson, finely executed as always - thanks Chris 👍

Chris! Thank you again for another awesome video! Do you have a shoulder rest you recommend? I used to use Kun as a kid. Then Wolf as a teenager. And have been using this Everest one for a while. Kun was too flat. Wolf was super formed for classical super upright playing. Everest was ok. Curious what you use :) Mine keeps falling off which is in part due to my bad technique but also the one I have is very old and the screws have worn down the plastic and now it comes at an angle to the edge of the violin and has a bad grip.

Hi Pierre. Glad you enjoyed the video! I've never seriously studied or compared shoulder rests, but I use a VIva Flex, which is comfortable and doesn't slip.

@@TheFiddleChannel thank you :) good to know. I loved the Cajun droning part of this video btw. That was all very new for me. I have classical background so the melodies aren’t too hard to pick up but those kind of accompaniment stuff is so helpful to know about and I love that you give us so many options to consider and think through. You’re truly an amazing teacher. Thanks for all the content.

Are the dots available for this song? They show up in the video, but wondering if they are available separately. Thanks!!! This is awesome!
