Somali men need to do better and be held accountable for making babies and leaving them, I hope Allah punishes every man that has caused this destruction and for abandoning their duties. I am glad Nawaal was able to grow from her experience, may Allah guide her. I hate the dhaqan celis phenomenon, shipping someone to a country that they know nothing about is psychological abuse in my opinion and creates a lot of trauma including avoidant attachment. Most of the issues is due to Somalis living in terrible neighborhoods, and that’s why in just 30 years our family units are just as broken if not more broken than AA family units (at least they have a reason). But most of the times the problem is the neighborhood and ceyr. Be cognizant of the environment you raise your children in. Her mom is amazing, may Allah reward her for her efforts.
