Nicely done. I love a starling wing too. Yesterday I was fishing a traditional Greenwell's with a bunched & split wing, it almost looked better at the end of the day than when it started! Cheers Eric. Martyn

Great job it’s one of my favorite in the wet version as an early vseason pattern. Ive caught many fish on this pattern. Nicely done

You should do a series where you only fish with these old patterns since theres not a lot of videos where people actually fish with the old patterns they just tie them.

I hear if you dye the under tail feathers of a starling blue they make a good substitute for cotinga. I haven't done it myself

I'll have to have a look. I'm always looking for feathers that will work for that. Some of the very small feathers under a mallard wing can work, but there are only 2 or 3 per bird that aren't too big. Starling is great for some spiders and nymphs. Thanks for the heads up on the possible cotinga sub, I'll check it out!
