Thr fact that you use the word new is telling. All of these sights have been researched for years... Saying it's a 2023 discovery is lying. Period. Discounting the massive amount of work over the years is terrible and dishonest. Use the correct words. Newly confirmed discoveries in 2023. They were discovered and known about for years. Just because a piece a paper says it's true after years of research doesn't mean its new.

It's not that rosey unfortunately. I work construction and excavation and have witnessed some of the most amazing and history shaking discoveries brushed right under the rug or completely mislabeled by academia and "archaeologists". Modern archaeology is barely a science if it qualifies at all. Incredibly sad.

Seems so little is really known about these areas. The temple in ancient Sumer is also really intriguing! Can't wait to see what's found, and it's really encouraging considering all the tech breakthroughs helping look under vegetation, under water, and even under the earth itself! Pretty exciting!

Yes, 2023 was bad for many. If it was for you, you have my sympathy. It was a rough year for my family, for sure. I lost my eldest son in August, who passed away basically for reasons unknown. I now only have my younger son. I don't even have my soulmate, who chose 3 years ago to toss away nearly 40 years together because I wasn't any fun any more (I was staying home due to the C-19 that could easily kill me due to health reasons). I've had too much to mourn, lately. If only extra money in my pocket could ease my pain, I'd have no pain at all, but the old adage is true: money can't buy a single ounce of happiness when your life is empty and cold.

I love learning about ancient civilizations. Especially the sites and artifacts that say, these people were more advanced in technology and culture than we realized. In some cases more than we are today.Because i think if we look at some of these things some long forgotten knowledge will present itself and maybe show us a better way to be. Old doesnt mean frail or useless, it means we have more to learn. And personally i find that exciting.
