The best cast of Television actors ever in a TV series. The only other police drama that could touch it was police story

Silva was not a cop. He was a gang member. His character was one of my favorites next to Renko and Miss Davenport the Attorney.

Hill Street Blues was the police story of its time. Dennis Franz was the best he played the best villainous cop ever😊

I had not remembered Franz on "Hill Street Blues"! I got so wrapped up in his character on "NYPD Blue"... (Andy Sipowicz??), I'd forgotten about other roles he was in 😢
@edljnehan28115 ай бұрын
@@margolangley4472 before sipowicz he played two different characters on Hill Street Blues. The first one was detective benedetto AKA bad Sal benedetto if you'll remember at the end of the show they sent the robot in to get him. He was assigned to work undercover with Neil Washington. The second character he played in the later Seasons after Esther house was already dead was detective lieutenant Norman Bunce. He was basically a more ruthless Detective sipowicz from NYPD Blue who was also a lieutenant. In all three of these roles he played Rogue cops and was hilarious with his StreetWise wisecracks. Believe it or not he also had a small role in police story which was the standard for police drama in its day before Hill Street Blues. He also played a rogue cop in Dressed to Kill with Angie Dickinson and a crazy New York City Cop transfer to LA in Hunter. So his entire career was pretty much based on playing Rogue cops who were very StreetWise but villainous with a loose screw. I'm a huge fan of his and a lot of my friends say I remind them of him with my Sharp wit and even the way I talk with that Midwestern Chicago accent. I hope this filled in some of the blanks for you.

@@margolangley4472 he played two characters on Hill Street Blues the first one was bad Sal benedetto and later on in the series Lieutenant Norman Bunce. Who played another Rogue cop in Hunter named detective Jackie Molina's. He also played a detective in Dressed to Kill and even played a cop in the old police Story series. I was a huge fan of his and friends say I even sounded like him.
@edljnehan28115 ай бұрын
@@margolangley4472 continued... friend said I even sounded like him with my Chicago Midwestern accent. I don't know if you remember police story but he had a small role in that and was pretty much unknown. Police story was an excellent police Anthology series from the early 1970s and I considered it the Hill Street Blues of its day. Anyway his first role in Hill Street Blues was a cop named bad Sal benedetto who partnered up on an undercover with Neil Washington where Lieutenant Norman Bunce came later in the series after sergeant Phil esterhaus had already passed on and left the series. Detective Sal benedetto was probably the most effective in best of the roles he played even though he was only in that role for three episodes it's well worth revisiting so is Lieutenant Norman Bunce. I hope this filled in a little lost memories for you. He played the best rogue cops and I'm a huge fan of his acting in these rolls.

Arnold Johnson’s character was not named ‘Drunk’. He was known as Buck Naked due to the fact that everytime he had to go to court to answer charges, he would disrobe and loudly announce “I’m buck naked! I’m buck naked!”. The courtroom would then be in utter chaos and the case against him dismissed in order to just get rid of him. This brilliant psychological tactic proved to be the hilarious comic relief element in several episodes.
