I am not sure if you guys understand what poor is? Poor is not being able to put food on the table, poor is not being able to afford your rent. Poor is living in your car, not million dollar houses. Poor is trying to figure out which bill gets paid this month, and which ones can be put off until next month. When the next month comes, now you are more in debt, because you didn't pay some bills from the previous month. Poor is living pay cheque to pay cheque. Some people are really out of touch with reality.

I am comfortable with my lower income retirement, but I try to keep some $5 bills in my wallet for when I walk around the shopping centers, where I get my groceries, and where I often meet the traveling musicians and other homeless people to be able to share some of my blessed "fortune"--that money which I DON'T really need. How much money do you need? I have some money in the bank, but it's not getting spent for anything. It's just this weird psychological security that often besets those of us in our elder years. However, it's better to share some of your accumulated wealth, when occasions arise, with those in greater need. And you are so right about what defines poverty! Thank you so much for your comment.

As someone who grew up poor, I appreciate your comment. Those who don’t understand what poverty is are privileged. Life is great for me now, but as a little girl, I was raised by an abusive, narcissistic mother and mostly absent father. I remember taking showers at home in freezing cold water, because Mommie dearest was cut off from hydro for late payments. We were constantly evicted from apartments and hounded by calls from collection agencies. My siblings and I wore dirty clothes and worn out shoes. I know others had it worse off, but it was agony for me. I am grateful to have overcome it, and I wouldn’t wish poverty on anyone. Living modestly is not poor.

She drives a 5 year old regular car, dresses very inexpensive, no fancy jewelry and lives in a old farmhouse thats not fancy at all.....she also still works even though old enough to retire. If some of these very wealthy people, who have millions and millions of dollars, gave up half of their financial estate to setting up systems to feed hungry people, they would STILL be left with a great wealth that could be recaptured through reinvestments...in no time at all. I don't know what planet you're from, but $50 million IS A LOT of money! If handled wisely, one could live very comfortably on the interest dividends alone without EVER making a dent in that amount. It's the half-wits who spend, spend, and then spend more that destroy their wealth, and don't realize that ANY amount of money can ALWAYS be lost.

No, stop. Who takes a BUS to rescue a dog from a shelter? (NOT Keanu Reeves, I promise.) I'm just saying, dogs in most cities aren't welcome on buses without certification, and our local shelter needs to know you have a ride before they adopt out. Now I'm annoyed less than 1 minute into the thing, and I have this dilemma of whether to continue a video I think may exaggerate the facts...
