20 Hours in BRATISLAVA!! Is it enough? [travel vlog]

I stopped for just one night in Bratislava, Slovakia in between visiting Budapest and Vienna, which left me just about 20 hours to explore the Old Town. Is that enough time?
Bratislava has quite an interesting history. This was once the capitol of Hungary. 11 Hungarian Kings were crowned in St. Martin's Cathedral here. It was once a tri-lingual city; Slovak, Hungarian & German. Germans were deported after WWII. Today, the population is 90% Slovak.
The Old Town is absolutely beautiful. You feel as though you've stepped back into medieval times. The people are really friendly, and the food is great, what more could you ask for!

It took me 20 minutes to get through the 10 minute video because I had to rewatch so many of those beautiful shots. I never wanted to visit Eastern Europe until watching your last couple travel vlogs; now it's on my bucket list.

That's awesome! Opening minds over here! I think maybe still some Soviet era stigma for Eastern Europe, but it's actually really nice! I even had Kyiv on my list before the war, but will have to wait a while on that one!

Slovakia is not Eastern Europe, Slovakia is in Central Europe.

@@bobberes7155 It's really an ambiguous term, there is no official definition. Slovakia is part of the Eastern European Group in the United Nations, which only divides European States into Eastern and Western groups. And Czechoslovakia was part of the Eastern Bloc. Geographically, yeah, it's pretty central. So really, whether you say Slovakia is in Eastern or Central Europe, you're right.

@@huntstyle It's really about cultural identity. Maybe try to check this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_Europe and you'll understand more, why many there don't like being referred to as Eastern Europeans. BTW, you made a really nice vid, loved watching it:)

Hi! Great vlog, has inspired us to go - just wanted to know your experience with COVID-restrictions. Planning on going soon but there's so much conflicting information about entry requirements? We're vaccinated but has been 9 months since our last dose!

Thanks! I didn't need anything on this trip until a negative test to return to the US, but that's no longer required. I flew into Budapest and they had just dropped all restrictions. I don't recall Slovakia having requirements at that time, but if they did, they didn't check anything on the train. I brought my vaccine card just in case, but never had to show it. But hey if you get the bivalent booster you'll be within 9 months again!
