Such a useful video, thank you so much, Vanessa!! As native speakers, we use these kinds of expressions at work all the time without realizing it: - An alternative to "I'd like to bounce some ideas off you" that I personally use A LOT is "I'd love to jam with you on X" or "I'd love to swap notes with you." - On the flip side, if I'm offering to chat with someone or have them "bounce ideas off" me, I might say "I'd love to be a sounding board, so feel free to bounce any ideas off me" or "hit me up anytime you'd like to jam on X."

TGIF means "sextou" in a Portuguese slang to say that it's the weekend, the work is over and after that, we can have fun and do what people are really anxious for doing! Friday in Portuguese is sexta or sexta-feira. Then we get the noun "sexta" (Friday) and change it to a verb "sextar", meaning that we won one more week of hard work and responsabilities, and at last, we can make parties and have fun with friends and family!

Hello Vanessa, it's a pleasure to see you again you're an amazing English teacher. Let's get started this new year by learning more English vocabulary. Business isn't really my thing but I think I'll need a bit of its vocabulary for my career. Mindfulness and effort are the key to learning and mastering English and any other language. I greet you from Peru and see you later. ❤
@fredylopez24772 жыл бұрын
If you allow me ; Not only effort and mindfulness but "interest and time". In fact, you need, interest, effort, (which includes mindfulness) and time, in that order. But there's something else, which is essential in any language and that's the fact that we (adults) need to study Grammar, Phonetics and of course, vocabulary and the person who says the opposite, is just lying, I learned English that way, I mean, I studied Grammar, a little bit of Phonetics and of course, vocabulary and it took me about one year and a half but it was worth it 'cause now I can speak, understand, write and read English, maybe Not perfectly but I have certain fluency, well, maybe the fact that I lived in the USA for almost 10 years, helped me a lot, in other words, what Kale Anders says is a lie, I'm sure he studied English and Spanish Grammar before, so, studying Grammar and Phonetics are also the key to learning any language, I'd say that they're more essential than mindfulness and effort. I had to come back to my country and that was a long time ago and I think I've forgotten a little bit about English, that's why I'm brushing up on my English now and I'm subscribed to Vanessa's channel and some other native speakers channels Well, there's so much to talk about this topic but so little time, thanks for reading my comment.

Are you kidding dude? Are sure she has enough time to do the programm only for you? You are looking like red neck! You want everything but free!
@ernestorevollar36322 жыл бұрын
@@fredylopez2477 Yeah darling, but I only said two keywords: mindfulness and effort because I didn't want to sound redundant in my comment, but everything you said is good and it's important to take it into consideration. I respect your opinion 'cause at least you share my thoughts. And as you're saying is really important to learning and mastering any language by having a high-level of motivation and of course you need plenty of time to studying Grammar, Phonetics, Vocabulary and much more to become proficient in the languages field. I love languages and I know that I need a huge motivation to achieving it. I feel that I'm on the right way to reaching out to other people who will have been trying to understand the languages that I'm studying. By the way, the languages that I really like are English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Turkish and Russian, I know it sounds great and unbelievable but I'd love to speak them confidently and clearly. In fact, oneself needs a great immersion into the language and obviously getting involved in its culture. I know that I need to travel abroad to succeed with my goals. I'd love to go to the United States to improving my English skills, meeting new people, exploring its wonderful landscapes and cities regardless of so many trouble that surround me in my country. Moreover, I need to travel to many other countries where my favorite languages are official and I know that everything is possible if I really believe it and all I have to do is keep studying to become a professional because one of my dreams is traveling all over the world and also being an art professor at a university in the United States. By the way, who says you shouldn't learn grammar? LOL that guy you mentioned is completely silly and reckless, well some of his thoughts don't make any sense but that's his problem. So now, I only want to say that Speak English with Vanessa channel is absolutely helpful to teaching us all about English communication, grammar and much more lessons for our lifetimes, therefore I also recommend you these four following channels: Rachel's English, MmmEnglish, English with Lucy and English2Me by the teacher Diego. Well, it was a pleasure to talking to you. Have a nice day and take care.

In my opinion United States has the most headquarters of the biggest companies in the world unlike the Britain 🇬🇧suchas: toyota, ford, Gmc, apple, mcdonald's, kfc, Starbucks coffee sutherland global company if u need to compare the U.S to the U.k the difference is huge between them as you can see many people worldwide from different nationalities prefer to speak English with American accent because it's an work's language in many jobs in the American companies world wide @cesarlopez8273
