If you get injured on Good Friday, the wound will heal longer than it should. After a funeral you should never go straight to your house or else the spirits will follow you. Instead of knocking on the door, you should say “tao po” before entering which means that your letting the person know that your human and not a spirit. Turn on all the lights in your house on New Years so your year can be bright. If you accidentally bite your tongue, it means someone is talking about you.

"Tabi Tabi Po" Is one of the things called "Bulong" (Not the actual Whispering) Bulong is used by other manggagamot's and is also used in black magic like mangkukulam etc. Remember how they like whisper things that you can't understand, it's their orientation or ritual. (Like spells)

Yes! I'm a Filipino and the 1st one is most common in my family. My family likes to take pictures, but some members don't. When 3 members want to take a picture, my mom and some others pick 1 more person so that there won't be 3 people in the picture.

Other Superstitions I know are: 1. place some chicks over the funeral (make sure it is not counted in even) 2. Do not cut your nails at night or else you'll end up blind. 3. Do not sweep at night it will cause bad luck 4. Girls who have a period will not do the "Lampaso"(scrubbing the wooden floor or red floor) or else it'll get worse. 5. Do not sing while eating, it's bad luck. 6. If there is a black Moth (Adult) which means somebody is dead either your family member or not. 7. Do not sleep when your hair is wet it will make your hair white known as "Uban" 8. During night drive, do not look at the woods because the bad spirits or monsters will get you. 9. The weird fruit (It's small and red) that is a drink after vaccination if you don't drink water your eyes will get bigger. 10. Beware of Human from Grass known as " Tao Tikan Sa Sakbot" it might kidnap you or they love to meet you.

The version I know was actually, when a young girl sings while cooking or in front of the stove she will marry an older man. Well, I used to sing in front of the stove while cooking rice when I was a teenager. Now I am married to a man 17 years older than me. That is so funny.

Use Tabi Tabi po when ur just walking by and just honk your horn if ur in a car. (so, i forgot to say tabi tabi near an ant hill kinda like structure the next day i got sick :p) and at nuno’s since tabi tabi po is a sign of respect telling them elements that ur passing through

During first day of first menstruation jump from the second or third step of the stair and your days of menstruation will be the same as the steps. Jump after hearing the new years clock so you will be tall,put a lot of coins in your pocket too so you will have money for the whole year. there are lot more superstitious beliefs here,I've outgrew them and forgot lots of them.

This is one.... mostly you lean your finger back and forth and means "come" but in Philippines there is a cool trick... it will work on any animal especially cats and dogs.. when you do that the leaning of finger they will follow you because they think it is a surprise but... when you pretend to drop grains by rubbing your thumb and index finger the animal you are luring will follow you to wherever you go but.. feed them because they beleive there is food

If a group of people have their picture taken and there are 13 people, that is bad luck. You need to either subtract or add one more person to the group so there are less or more than 13 people in the picture to avoid bad luck or a tragic accident from happening. Another popular superstition is never compliment a baby on his/her looks, it might invite bad spirits to harm them out of jealousy. If you do end up complimenting a baby like saying "how cute!" without realizing it, depending on where in Philippines you are, the baby's mom must say "buyag" to ward off evil spirits in bisaya culture and in tagalog culture they say "lawayan mo, baka mausog"("wipe saliva on him/her, he/she might be cursed") or ask you to wipe your saliva on the baby's forehead with your thumb or finger to take back the curse and keep the bad spirits away.

Don’t cut your nails at night. Don’t sweep or take the dust out the house at night. Don’t pay your debts or borrow money at night. Cover your food/meal if you plan go to a different house. (Usually when doing errands) Don’t stack/light candles on top of each other. A broken plate means someone is in trouble. A broken mirror will bring you bad luck. I know these but don’t practice/believe them at all.

Story time: I had a time when we were on a road trip, i was a kid and i felt like peeing so badly. My parents told me to just pee by a bush, and so i did, but i didnt say 'tabi-tabi po'. Couple of days later my groin region hurts so we went to a medium and i forgot what they told me but what i only remember is that a dwarf apparently cursed my groin and i dont remember anything other than that. It was awkward hovering her hand near my groin while talking to the spirit and i never peed on a bush since then

Tabi Tabi Po is true, when I lived in PI, I went to school through some heavy vegetation without saying Tabi Tabi Po. I got a perfect size circle on my right cheek the size of half dollar coin. My mom made my say sorry to them or Tabi Tabi Po.

My grandma didn't like us to take a bath on Friday, or end of the month, like 31st, because it might be your last bath! Grandpa didn't like us girls to eat gizzards of chicken especially if our ears were not pierced yet (for earrings)---eating gizzards render our ears to be tough to pierce! We're not aloud to eat bogok (laid but unhatched eggs (not balut) of chickens because the unhatched eggs will make us dull! For all I know, the unhatched eggs when boiled are good!

Yes we have many superstitious belief. Many of them are from our Grandparents Lolo and Lola. Sometimes it is to prevent the younger ones to do something dangerous but they cant say it directly coz the young cant understand it so they make some STORY to scare the young. But nowadays, Its treated as a comedy coz newer generation are more techie and not believing anymore.
