i was relatively new to skateboarding when i tried to do my first ollie. of course most of my attempts were fails, then at one attempt, i slipped over the board and landed straight onto my knee without protection. it wasnt broken (thank god), but the pain was extreme and i was rendered pretty much immobile for a week and hardly able to walk for a month onward. only recently i've gained full mobility of my right leg again. yall, if you're just starting out, not confident in yourself or your board, or doing tricks, safety equipment is always #1 priority. falling is inevitable.

1. a friend, skating with a friend is always more fun 2. Depending in where ur skating bring a speaker so u and ur friend or friends can have all the music I read of every one with headphones and not being able to hear each other as well. I personally just got on a real board and not a long board and it's one of my favorite decisions I've made not the best but my favorite. Can't wait to hit the park for the first tine.

Though I'm not a scateboarding guy and even kinda (extreme) cyclist, that's what I'd like to mention. I'm surprised how you skater guys are still alive doing that crazy and dangerous stuff without protection. Backpack. The best one for juming on bike I found (and I believe would be best for riding boards) has to have following: straps to tighten it up (so your stuff doesn't fly around your bag while airborne) and strap around your belly or waist (so you bag doesn't slam you on back on landing).

To follow up with the first aid thing, knowing how to effectively use everything in your kit to get the most out of it when needed is just as important. Also, if you do end up using anything from your kit, remember to replace it. Nothing worse than needing a bandage or sling and you're fresh out

Keep trying to find a like rucksack that carries a board but they're all kinda pricey. I always take the t tool and a first aid kit 🤣

Just get a bag you like and can carry all the stuff you want it to or need and sew some straps onto the bag to hold your board. If you already have a bag then it costs even less to do this. Add quick release clips or Velcro depending on your preference.

I definitely agree on butt pad. I started skating 2 days ago. I'm 28 and haven't had a "good" fall since I was a kid. 2 days ago I stepped on the board for the first time. Everything went well until my last try to go up a ledge. I fell so fast and so hard that I called in sick on work the next day (today) because I couldn't walk. I fell directly on my right buttock. It still hurts. I can barely sit down or tie my shoe laces. With that being said, I can't wait to recover and step on the board again.

Seriously considering butt pads. I started skating about a month ago, and while I've made a ton of positive progress and my board control is constantly getting better, its not been without bail after bail. There's always at least one bad eat shit moment when I try something new, and its wreaked havoc on my lower back, especially one of my early ones where I fell directly on my butt, that could've been way worse than it ended up being. Currently taking a couple of days off my daily practice cuz I woke up this morning barely able to sit up straight. Just been stretching it out and taking an ibuprofen here and there when it gets bad. I'm 25 and while it's made me feel younger than when I was a teenager, it's definitely put into perspective that I need to be a touch more protective of the areas that I've neglected over the years until they strengthen up lol.
