She grew up 20 minutes away from where I live. I saw her perform at a Shania Twain concert in Ottawa when she was just 14 years old. She won a radio contest to go on stage and sing a song with Shania, and Shania was blown away by how confident and talented she was. This kid from a very small town (Napanee only had about 5,000 residents back then) was undaunted by a massive stadium that didn't have a single empty seat. She made her name singing country, got a record contract, and insisted on recording a pop album, against everyone's wishes, and they eventually gave in on it. Huge balls on a little girl.

Yeey... That video made me happy... I won`t lie... I used to have a crush on Avril :P (like one of those millions and millions of young males that have seen her songs... obviously I live an Ocean away and yeah... ) Also back than in my country the dominant music genre... I weren`t fan at all of... I also thought Pop Music is too girly... Male metal on the other hand was too ~gnarly... but Avril truly provided good music and appealing for me looks. Thus I became a fan... which in case someone doesn`t know it yet, for a male means you have a crush (It`s not like it`s impossible for a male to like something a female is doing without being attracted to her on a gender related basis... it`s just that 95% of the cases that would be lying to yourself... Now I don`t know how it works for male persons with actual relationships, because I've never had any, but I am pretty sure it`s still the same. All I can say is that it shouldn`t in any way cause jealousy or other negative feelings, because strict monogamy have never been intended on biological level ~ever... it can and actually should be upheld on social, because in the complicated world of intelligence based interactions it`s practically a necessity and I am happy for those that can achieve it... but key word here being intelligence... so it should allow both spouses to go over and trough such ~side aspirations... because they are inevitable and harmless, if of course not brought to some sort of too wide deviation of what it is and should be.) All this being randomly and needlessly said... I also remembered how much Tony Hawk Pro Skating I used to play... that game was ~awesome... awesome... Gaining points of maintaining your tricks and perfuming them on high speeds and clean was such a feeling of ~freedom and gain ~something little modern games can provide, all they want is your money. Real Skateboards thou... terrify me. I don`t want to even attempt to step and stand still on one.
