Thanks for making a great video at last showing how to make one of Roger's creations for beginners and youngsters. Maybe next a radio and sheeting video showing the Power Lever, as this aspect is confusing for the numbies. The problem for me with Roger's entry level designs is that Achilles Keel! Have a look at a simple design that beginners can make on my video. A McCormack rig is probably more appropriate on a quick beginners yacht too.

One of the problems with a sailing yacht so small is that they have a tendancy to submarine downwind on a run, to try to offset this problem the bow is made wider at the deck line giving the hull something to settle onto in the water when this occurs and preventing the yacht becoming uncontrollable. See the footy uk website, sailfootyuk for all the details on parts and sails etc and numerous other Footy designs.

Very nice video. I like your "footy". What is the purpose of the flat nose? Also, could you please show the install of the radio gear and the sails next time? You said you recycle parts from other stuff, but I would be interested in knowing where or how to get or make the keel and bulb assembly and where did you get the rudder from? Those parts appear to have come from a kit. I am assuming the mast, sails, booms and rigging also come from a kit or another boat?

I think we share a thankful attitude towards Mr. Shepherd, but I too would like to see more about how to get to such a sleek keel, and more about how to build that rig. I am building a Bob-About from scratch out of depron, plans from the internet and Uhu Por contact glue. This morning I bought a lead "bullet" from the fishing gear store - 149 grams - and have epoxied in place. I chose a conventional sloop rig but Peter's exquisite sail rig got me curious.

Can you show us how to make a fin like that, I need to fit a mast on a hull. New to rc boats.
