Hi, J Corbett, thanks for the question! The phone dilemma is a common struggle within the world of switchtasking, and while it's ideal to only allow scheduled phone calls, that's not always practical. In situations where unpredictable phone calls are frequent, we want to find a middle ground to limit switching costs. If possible, try to schedule blocks of time to accept incoming calls and also plan “Do Not Disturb” times for focus. Then have specific times of the day when you check and respond to voice messages.
