Definitely not boring, love (but feel also feel bad) that the head camera failed it was so funny, you add personality to your videos. Always enjoy watching your plants. I’ve just chopped and extended my philodendron Melanochrysum! I hope it doesn’t diiiiiiiiiiiie

I did one of those jobs today. I'm a fairly new plant parent. I bought a baby Alocasia Portadora and Alocasia Regal Shield 3 months ago (12 weeks exactly). I thought it'd be a while before I needed to size up. They were both in self-watering pots. That's a mistake I won't make again. The roots pushed through both and grew into the water reservoir underneath. But I didn't realise until there was significant growth. Like A LOT. I've been putting it off for two weeks now. But since the last leaves that unfurled are as big as my face already, I couldn't put it off any longer. I tried to butcher the pots to rescue the roots, but couldn't. I had to bite the bullet and do some snipping. BUT having seen you put your Alocasias in semi-hydro, and since my Alocasias had put themselves sort of into semi-hydro, I decided to go with semi-hydro pon-like for my new baby Frydek, and LECA for my massive Portadora and Regal Shield. I've NEVER done either before. I'm hoping I haven't given them death sentences. Although with their growth rates, I know if the worst happens I can get another baby plant and start again with fairly quick results. Cross your fingers for me!

Thanks for another lovely relaxing houseplant chore video. It’s true, sometimes just tackling the one thing you’ve been dreading just takes the biggest weight off. And you can just take a breath.

Now that reminded me of the time I had to untangle my Hoya Carnosa that is about 13 yrs old, it has 10 strands each one appr. 8 feet long and wrapped around a to small trellis. it's so pretty now, it's back on large trellis. Patience needed for sure.

I’ve had my husbands head lamp on when I need extra light while I’m trying to trim off dry drosera leaves or if I’m cleaning up a pinguicula. I sure could’ve used it this evening but he told me it quit working so he got rid of it. 🙁 it also left an impression on my forehead. 😂 Enjoyed the video!

In envy of you Scindapsus. I struggle with these plants. I recently bought one and put it into Leca. I would love one that has trailed as long as yours. I recently bought a Monstera - Thai Constellation. It was planted in coconut coir. I am surprised any plant can grow in this medium. I prefer to remove this and plant in my own soil mix. I part Osmocote premium soil mix, 1 part Osmocote Cactus soil mix, 1/2 part worm castings. 1/2 part charcoal, 3 parts perlite, 1 part pumice.

Hi Claire! Great video! I am a new plant parent and first plant i got was a scindapsus and it also seems to be planted in a super soft potting medium with half the roots exposed on top. I know i need to repot it & was planning on doing it today actually but am wondering what type of substrate you find works well for them? Thanks, Rachel

If you are interested in camera mounts you can wear you might want to look at a chest mount. It's more stable since a lot of people get motion sick from shaky footage.

I haven't watched the video yet but I've gotta ask: did your alocasia portodora start off as short and then became tall? I've had mine for at least 9 months and she doesn't want to get taller but she's not that young (I didn't bought her as a baby plant)

Well... I have untangled some String of Hearts (about 3 m long, and thick!), and Philodendron scandens ( 6 strands, about 4 m each...) and I´ve survived, but....! I´ve put on some great music, with some motivating rhythm, awesome vocals, nice melodies.... your choice in this video would surely have cost the plants their lives. Sorry! Instant brain meltdown. 😵💫 I really REALLY love your videos, but this audio was killing me. Once again, I´m very sorry. I apologize deeply. But I had to say this.
