Avocado plants are also very good to keep as the leaves will droop very suddenly which reminds you to water your avocado plant Ps: they loveee water. They may need to be watered every couple/few days depending on the environment

I like the decoration sleeve around your pot. Do you make those or is it something you bought? Regarding sitting the tap water for hours, only water and gases (like chlorine) will evaporate and no other chemicals and definitely no minerals will ever leave the water. And depending on the area you live, they will put either chlorine or chloramine into your local water. The latter does not evaporate. So, check with the local water department and find out which one. Most common cause for ruining the leaves on Calathea will be direct sun and repeated irregular watering (leaving the pot bone dry and forget about it or letting in sit in water and forget about it).

That poor regal shield needs more light, then it won’t grow so leggy. And why rinse the substrate when repotting into the same substrate. Alocasias hate you messing with their roots. I want to see you remove it from that coffee jar 😂😂

Love your videos. Thx for all the plant knowledge you share with us. I was resently told by a friend, a biologist, that spagnum moss comes from the wet lands, and when kept there, it stores a lot of CO2 - I guess in many ways, it has some of the same envioremental effects, as the rain forest. Just to share, that we all should be mindfull, with the moss. Lots of plant love, from Denmark

24:41 just a little opinion that people have on layering lecas for pots (or a jar in this case) without drainage hole: it is not recommended since you can get mucky sludgy water residues mold and bacteria that gets trapped under a layer of soil.. You can also use leca in soil to add aeration as you would perlite!

Maybe you answered it already in another video, but why don't you install a grow-light in your bathroom? This way you could use your bathroom as a rehab / quarantine zone, without risking your plants to be forgotten 😉 and on top you have some green in there to enjoy. Love your content, i could listen to you all day 🥰 Greetings from Germany ❤
