I have a trench coat from Zara for about 7 years ago and I still wear it. It's a classic beige style. It goes without saying, trench coats are really timeless and I would definitely recommend having one. A very good selection in this video.

The original trench coats for men had capelettes on them that went over the shoulders and either tied or buttoned in the front and were sewn in at the top seams. The storm flap is what is left from that style, but the purpose is the same. The originals were made from a stiff oil cloth and were water repellent. They were very structured.

What a great video! Super informative. For me a trench coat is just a normal coat if it does not have epaulettes, a back “layer” ,and belted sleeves. Oh and must be calf length.

Hi Charlotte! Great video and I love trench coats. You have shown us such a great selection- something for all tastes! I bought an amazing grey one about 4 year ago when I was in England and,believe it or not, I got it from a West Country garden centre!! It’s from an Irish company called Jack Murphy and it’s been amazing. Now,I’m on the lookout for a beige/ taupe,long length,lightweight trench so this video has been a great help. Loved this video. Surprisingly, I don't even own a coat and I'm from the UK. I have light jackets and love a long cardigan but I just don't feel the cold but I really like the way a coat finishes off an outfit so a trench might be just the thing for me 😁

Hey Charlotte I'm crazy in love with all my trenches, have a black and beige animal print, a standard long Navy one, a lemon colour shorter style, Two black, one shorter than the other that I wear quite snug, and of course a camel one!!! I did wonder if you had any advice about which of the coats you showed would be better suited to a cool skin tone? I am definitely on the cooler side and so look better in silver jewellery and greyer tones -some of the caramel colours do not suit me well! Thank you so much for this video Charlotte! For reference I'm 5'1 (155cm) and wear size XS/34. I've been trying quite a few trench coats lately (looking for a classic beige one). If any petite girls watching this video are wondering: I've tried on the one the one from River Island, though I love the design of it, it's unfortunately too overwhelming on my frame. From my experience longer trenches suit petite frames better if they are made of a lighter material and have a rather minimal design. Thank you also for including options from Everlane and Sezane, I might order either one of them :)

As a petite, I prefer really long coats, they give a long, lean line. A short coat, especially if worn in a color contrasting with the outfit, can make petites look chopped in half vertically.

I ordered a camel trench from second female; absolutely gorgeous fabric and finish but there is long and then silly long it sat on top of my feet !
